Is there still a full SPL programme after the Portuguese boys changing their mind after flying in to Glasgow? What the hell was that about??And another thing-Why didnt the Irish refs go over-being off season? This ref solidarity stuff is bulls**t. These Scottish refs are acting like spoiled little schoolkids. Its all evil Lennons fault no doubt:mad:.Seems like hes about to be at fault for the holocaust next. "Lennon did all dis-we arra peeple-no surrender-the famine is over go home-Walter always has dignity-up to our knees in fenian blood" etc, etc.

Walter has more dignity than Lennon will ever have I am afraid to say. Celtic and their conspiracy theories, inuendo are largely to blame for this. This "honest mistakes" rubbish from Lennon is the reason it has come to this and any Celtic supporter who thinks otherwise is barking mad. You can question an officials mistakes all day long, and with justification, but when you question his impartality, then you step over the white line. Any official in ANY sport will tell you this. Lenny has overstepped the mark. The SFA should have hauled Lenny up on a disrupute charge at the time, and then this would have been end of issue. The Scottish game is stumbling from one fiasco to the next now because of their lack of action against Lennon a few weeks back.

The only way to sicken em is to win the title.Scottish football is steeped in Rangers to win.John Reid asked the refs to nominate who they support(like they do in England.-Cant ref team you support.) and now they're all striking. I wonder why. If asked in a lie detector situation Id say 80-90% would be supporters of the peeeple. HAVE THEY SOMETHING TO HIDE? You bloody well bet they do!

Absolute nonsense.. Refs are in the game for the love of it, they want to do the very best they can and ref in big games throughout the world... If you think their world revolves around Celtic Football Club, you are deluding yourself.

It wasnt Reid, it was some politician Wishart AFAIK. Its a good idea for referees to excuse themselves from matches where they may feel there is a conflict of interest without judgement. For that system to have any chance of working, the information needs to remain completely confidential. The public doesnt need to know who supports who, its a matter between referee's and the SFA, nobody else. But I dont think that could happen as newspaper will be offering money for former and current employee's to give them info. **** storms over nothing would happen.

Personally, I think I could referee a match, if trained up, between Celtic and Rangers impartially. I dont think my background would impair me to make the right decisions. Just because I support Celtic doesnt mean I'm incapable of enforcing the rules of the game that involves Celtic and/or Rangers. That wouldnt stop the conspiracy theorists making up ****, managers & players not agreeing with my decisions though.

I dont think its anywhere near 80% of referee's that support Rangers. Not everyone is Scotland is either Celtic or Rangers. Alot of people just hate the Old Firm. You telling me that someone from Aberdeen is most likely a Rangers supporter over Celtic or vice versa? They hate us both, Rangers more though! :pac:

I'm sorry, one of the best things to ever have happened to Scottish Football in recent years just happened tonight and you are waffling on about Lennon and Celtic. Celtic are the main reason that Scottish Football has just turned a corner, i.e. an hugely incompetent employee of the SFA took a walk because of the media spotlight that Celtic have brought on the whole referee system in Scotland.

Your buying into the tabloid shíte and their perception of Lennon. Maybe you should watch press conference of other managers like Ferguson and Wenger, how they react. They have laid into referee's, others have spent weeks in the stands for their protests but you want to single out someone like Lennon who has done no different when in the same situation.

TBH, expect nothing less from someone that only has a passing interest in the SPL.

    EDIT

No other FA would have allowed McDonald to continue as a grade 1 referee, its a farce.

For the last several weeks, you have done nothing but blindly defend referee's, claiming that there is nothing wrong with referees or the standard of refereeing in Scotland, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

I wonder. Was the ref possibly helping (actually making) the peeeeple win? Case closed. Nothing to do with Celtic or lennon. Its so blatant its embarrasing at this stage. I remember kyrgiagos dive v hearts in the last min few years back to win em the league eventually. The english sky sports commentator was gobsmacked that a peno was given. Honest mistakes...... Mate, check out post #16, i posted that interview already! :D

Note right at the end that youtube vid, Terry Butcher ex Rangers hatchetman, ALSO questions why referees buckle under the pressure when his team (at the time ICT afaik) couldnt buy a decision against Rangers.

Sorry man. Im just so angry at the way everything is being thrown at Lennon and Celtic. The root of the problem is a blatant bias towards de peeple.Thats the real problem that needs addressing.

I dont believe that there is a bias, just sheer incompetence and corruption, not just aimed at Celtic. Its right across the game. My point of view, and other people's point of views, are put across throughout the thread. You should get yourself up to speed tbh

Without getting into another rant, basically I dont want to be copy and pasting my earlier posts because I've repeated myself enough at this stage ;) You'll get a good sense of everyones point of view if you take the time to read the thread (i know its long!)

People keep making a big deal out of this, as if Walter somehow brought Murphy's heritage into it all. Here's a direct quote.
    http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/2008/11/13/rangers-boss-walter-smith-blasts-linesman-over-offside-blunder-86908-20891037/
"It was a poor decision by the linesman. I think the TV replays show quite clearly that Kris Boyd was onside.

"Mr Murphy was quick to allow a Scott McDonald goal at Celtic Park last season. And he was quick to disallow that one tonight.

"People always say we are the club who never get any decisions against us.

But that's two goals we've scored away from home this season at Aberdeen and Motherwell that the linesmen have got wrong."

The linesman's name IS Mr Murphy right? Because unless he's got his name wrong, i dont see the problem.

In the context of everything I've posted in this thread, that is horseshít. I've never claimed bias or favouritism once. Also I've never "moan about perceived injustices" against Celtic. My comment, if you bothered your hole to read the thread, was in the context that referee's regularly choke when Celtic and Rangers are involved and arent up to the standard required to officiate in the SPL.

Also that comment I made was in reference to a match that happened over 2 years ago. You just came into this thread looking to windup people with a completely inaccurate generalisation given what has been discussed in this thread. Again I say, go back to the rock that you crawled from out under.

Who cares if Rangers are selective based on ethnicity with who they sign? We don't moan when Bilbao do it. It is admired then.

OK so -this is boards.ie-an Irish site obviously.Heres my question to you-Why would any Irish father encourage their kids to support glasgow rangers, when all they do is spout vile abuse about Irish people. O'Shea was booed at Ibrox the other night just coz hes Irish. No Irish player has ever played senior football with ye.(truly astonishing when you consider the amount of Irish players at British clubs.)Give me one reason why I should encourage my daughter to support glasgow rangers. My argument about a Nicaraguan was in fact a joke. And I think you'll find Bilbao's system is admired. I couldn't give a fiddlers about it, or Ranger's, clubs can sign who they want. They seem to be doing ok in the SPL without any Irish in the team.

Admired and criticised in equal measure. Also the system has been relaxed as they have signed and played players that have no Basque ancestry. You probably didnt know that, did you?

I'd question your defence of bigoted transfer policies but then again, you are just looking for a quick **** stir before bed.

Go ahead.

Oh Where to start I don't think anyone will deny the black period of Rangers history but if people like your good self wish to remain rooted n the past thats your problem some of us have moved on. OShea got a lot less booing than Rooney the other night in fact it was a murmur compared to his. I will ask you as I have asked others how do you know O'Shea was not getting booed because of what happened to Rangers players when they played in Dublin for their International side against Ireland or was hat just for the craic

Can you also imagine how hard it must be for a young footballer to from here to go to rangers Just as or look up how Alan Maybury got on and thats only one case.
As I said Rangers are moving forward we have or certainly till recently had Alan Kernaghan as our youth coach, we also have young Irish U19's goalkeeper Alan Smith a young man reckoned to be a top prospect by those at the club. But as I said you carry on living in the past the rest of us will get on with life
