A lot of places were running with the Manchester United angle yesterday. Taht said, I'd love to see him at Juve :)

Not too sure about the United angle but I do know Milan had scouts watching him.

To be honest wouldn't be that heart broken if we got alot of money, he's very inconsistent.

United are being linked with a few left backs over the last couple of weeks - with talk of Madrid being in for Evra. Don't think he will go though. Rumours that United have told Benfica and Lyon that that they will pay the release clauses for Fabio Coentrao and Bastos, if Evra was to leave (obviously not both of them though)

Yeah, if only Bastos was a left back.

He's scored 1 in 4 everywhere he's been, in fairness, dependable enough.

Depends on your expectations. He still probably baloons 3 out of 4 crosses. Can take a decent free kick of course.
He was before he joined Lyon and plays there for Bhhazeeeuw.

Hasn't played there since 2008 for Lille and he wasn't and isn't great there for Brazil anyway.

United dont need a new left back if/when Evra does move on, Fabio Da Silva waiting in the wings

Belgian press reporting Lukaku has agreed to join City in July, and that his representatives are in Manchester at the moment. Talks supposed to have been taking place for just over 2 weeks.

Daily mail is linking us with Hulk from Porto which could be a good buy he's been reportedly watched by our scouts over 30 times this season.

Hulk could be a good buy, but I would consider him to be a big gamble actually

Luis Fabiano's agent has poured cold water on reports Tottenham Hotspur tabled an offer for the Sevilla striker.

The Brazil international is in demand during the January transfer window with Juventus also courting the 30-year-old front man.

Spurs have held a longstanding interest in Fabiano's services and were thought to have tabled a £12.5million offer for his services.

But the South American's agent Jose Fuentes insists no offer has been made by the Premier League flyers.

Fuentes told Radio Seville: "Sevilla have said nothing to me. If they [Tottenham] have bid 15million euros, surely they would have called me?"

"The money would have been received with happiness, but they have said nothing to me."

Fabiano has registered five goals for the Primera Division outfit this season but has featured sparingly for the Spanish club making just nine league starts.
so no offer recieved but he said 12.5m would be welcomed so fabiano could be on the move somewhere if someone puts a bid in

Ya normally :p we badly need a striker now though everyone scoring in champions league. Pav the only one who can score in the league but he can't hold the ball up Crouch able to hold the ball up but not able to shot or score or header or well you get the point Keane isn't able to lead the line Defoe has missed most of the season and probably can't lead the line.

Depressingly quiet, gotten to a stage that Birmingham fans are trying to organise a transfer themselves. Sending messages to Forssell on Twitter trying to convince him to hand in a transfer request and force through a move back to Birmingham.

Heard he is going to Italy .. supposedly reports on sky sports Italia! Would love him but think he would struggle in England due to culture and weather! He hasnt a great reputation for settling anywhere quickly .. We dont want a Robinhio situation on our hands

Seemingly Fuller maybe leaving. A big fans favourite at the brittiana. He will be missed if he goes. They still could do with shifting Gudjohnson or Tuncay to balance the books. Walters is shaping up well. I was over at the Blackpool game. It's brilliant the way you can talk to the players in the car park before they go into the dressing room :D

Looks like no striker to Spurs according to reliable ITK (Peanut on COYS) ... Harry doesnt think Suarez will fit the system and all other targets are not gettable. Doesnt like like they are going to gamble even though they realize we are in dire need of a decent striker.

They've only spent about £15m (net) between this season and last season, which is pretty small considering how much they've spent in recent seasons. I'd be surprised if they didn't spend a bit during this window.

Supposedly there is plenty of money to spend but they cant get the right player in and Harry seems afraid to take a gamble on someone like Suarez who isnt the type of striker he wants. If we get rid of Pav to Sunderland then they probably will go back in for Suarez .. otherwise things look like they will be remaining the same unless something comes out of leftfield.

Looks like Keane to Hammers also from ITK who is usually 100% accurate (POTL - COYS) .. Hammers really haggling on price though.

Is Keane still looking for a bonus if WH avoid relegation, or was that just gossip?

So if Harry goes for Suarez its only if they can sell Pav? Even though Lewis has the money to spend? Maybe Harry knows that he can't get Suarez? Maybe Harry is playing a waiting game to see what pans out. Its only second guessing.

Well we currently have four strikers and can't get rid of Keane at the moment anyway.

We havent and never will spend any of Joe Lewis cash. Every penny Spurs spend is generated by the business. The business is run with a huge emphasis on the PnL and Balance sheet as we are a publicly listed company and not some sugar daddys play thing. Hence why we have such a rigid wage structure and why Levy penny pinches in every deal he is involved in .. selling or buying.

Suarez isnt the striker Harry wants. He wants someone who can lead the line, hold the ball up, play as a lone striker, strong and good in the air. He sees Suarez as a second striker afaik who who might get in the way of VDV as they would occupy the same area of the pitch. If we sold Pav then it would free up some cash for Suarez and also he would be replacing a largely ineffectual striker so he would be worth the gamble. Our scouts suposedly are raving about Suarez to Harry and he fits the Levy profile of a player (young with a large sell on value) .. Harry just isnt convinced he can play the role we need .. although he has a very high goals to game ratio and he is better than what we have atm.

To be honest it isnt really second guessing either .. There are a couple of very solid ITK's that have a near 100% record over the years when it comes to transfers. Ofc there are a lot of WUM's as well but they two I'm refering to have always been spot on.

I'd say it's very unlikely that Suarez would go to Spurs. I doubt they could genuinely afford him in the first place and the player wants to go to LFC, nowhere else.

jaysus 500,000 million that lad must be good to be worth 6250 times the previous world record fee :pac:

Jarvis leaving has been on the cards for a while now hasnt it? any idea where he might be off to?

    :D he's good!

Jex Moxey released a statement this morning saying he is going nowhere which just means they will hold out for a good price, Liverpool and Everton are the two clubs that he has been linked to.

Who he would pick to come to is debatable if it was a straight choice .. but Spurs do have the cash. We just have had a huge CL windfall this season and if we turn a profit we will have to pay corporation tax. Levy will be eager to spend and spend big.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

    From Talksport

The £6m-rated striker has been linked with various clubs in recent weeks including Sunderland and Birmingham.

But Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp today revealed that West Ham are leading the chase for the Republic of Ireland forward.

Redknapp said: "West Ham have shown an interest, for sure. I know Avram [Grant] likes him but it's down to whether the chairmen can come to a deal.

"Robbie would like to move if the opportunity comes but it has to be the right move for him and for the club. We're looking for a permanent move."

And Redknapp rebuked Birmingham for claiming they were close to signing his player.

"When they said they couldn't meet his wage demands that was totally unfair on Robbie because he had never made any demands. He never ever spoke to Birmingham and made any demands."

Redknapp also ruled out moves for former Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi and Porto striker 'Hulk.'

"Giuseppe Rossi is a good player but he's not available," Redknapp said. "Incredible Hulk? No, not going to happen. We're not close to doing anything

Fulham are looking to bring in Gael Kakuta on loan for rest of season. I cant see that happening with Chelsea's recent form and the lack of strength in depth in there squad.

Neither Pav nor Keane were on the bench for us yesterday so they might be out the door taking 120-150k a week off the wage bill but I still don't think there is anyone else out there to replace them with.
