Charlie Adam the new Paul Scholes?

    i dont think so.

-West Ham United have selected not to sign Edu (formerly of Arsenal Fame) after a three day trial.

-West Ham United's purported attempts to sign Jay Bothroyd and Wes Brown appear to be nothing more then tabloid speculation

West Ham United appear to be on the verge of selling Herita Illunga to Monaco, and clinching the re-signing of Tal Ben Haim.

Charlie Adam the new Paul Scholes?

Please have some respect. You're talking about the most gifted player of his generation. You really think Charlie Adam can live up to that? At 25 Scholes was world class on a European stage!

1619: Interesting, very interesting. Apparently the odds on Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam joining Manchester United have plummeted in the last few minutes. He is now 1/4 to go there and only 5/2 to join long-term suitors Liverpool. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said last week of course that Adam is "worth £10m for his corners alone". Watch this space.

hmmmm... and there was me showing next to no interest in transfer stuff today... Will be paying a bit of attention now :p

Ireland fails medical at Newcastle. They must have gave him a mental examination as well as a physical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,977 ✭✭✭Soby

Would bring Carroll up to 5th in the most expensive list and 2nd most expensive forward ever :P

Roberto Mancini has announced a new face will arrive at Eastlands today.

Lescott and Tevez are fighting over who gets it.

Torres really landed Liverpool in it, £35+ for Carroll because it was too late to get anybody else, or negotiate a decent price. It's just an insane price for him.

At long last, I can give you an update on Fernando Torres' switch to Chelsea. Well, an explanation on why it hasn't progressed for the last few hours. BBC Sport understands that the delay with the deal is down to a hitch in negotiations about the mechanics of his Stamford Bridge contract, concerning image rights etc.

Jesus if we lose him over **** like that.
Didnt Utd lose Ronaldinho over something similar years back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

There was a story he wouldn't join us because we wouldn't give him a private helicopter to take him to nightclubs in London!

Hearing rumours of Crouch to Newcastle, any chance Spurs could be tablying another offer for Carroll including Crouch? Couldn't see Carroll choosing Pool over Spurs at the minute either ,if both were an option..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Carroll submitted transfer request and it was accepted by Newcastle

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

Yep same as, just posted on Eurosport
The Magpies say they have reluctantly granted permission for Carroll to talk to Liverpool - quite how all this can happen so quickly is beyond me. How quickly did the striker scribble out that transfer request?

Amazing how the Liverpool fans are so happy to be losing Torres and gaining Carroll.

Hey we're a fickle bunch! If Torres wants out then sod him frankly, a great player and all that but no point in being reluctant in waving him goodbye and hoping he has a lousy Stanford Bridge. As for Carroll plenty on the Liverpool
thread are appalled while others think Suarez + Carroll would be rather good.

Don't get me wrong, i think Carroll is/will be a great player, and the same with Suarez - but it's just strange!

In any case, will this have a knock-on effect for this evening? Surely Newcastle will be splashing some cash?
