There's no need for you to carp on about it, but in fairness the lad does have a good leap on him so he could be a danger from set pieces.

Fee had been agreed of £7 million pounds with Blackpool, surely another club could have bid that amount.

Liverpool did good to get 50million for torres, considering he has been crocked since last summer pretty much and is miles behind the form he put in before.

but with the wages and salaries going on in the EPL nothing surprises.

    Diouf gone to Rangers.

    hahah

Rangers must have some inside knowledge of him we dont know about

Personally, on ability alone, I think he's now by far and away the best player in the SPL.

He's an absolute twat, but he's a very good footballer and based on ability alone there's no-one better in the SPL at the minute, IMO.

    Freddie Ljungberg....
given all his issues are injury based which have nothing to do with football ability so if that's the criteria Ljungberg is head and shoulders ahead of Diouf.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Mancini had said Shay couldn't leave unless a replacement was found. I'm glad he didn't drop down a division. If he waits until the summer he can get a move to another Premiership club. Hopefully it won't affect his international form.

just curious, have heard people going on about the fact that carrol is english and moving from one english club to another this would have pushed up his price due to some tax thing? i cant understand it, can anyone explain it to me if clubs pay more tax on english players than players who are not english?

Its not a real tax,its just the fact that English players seem to have millions added on to the price simply because they are English,an equally talented foreignor will usually be alot cheaper.

From what I understand a loan deal for Eric Maxim Choupo Moting to go to Cologne for the rest of the season had been agreed. But our fax machine broke at 17.50pm and the papers couldn't be faxed to the DFL by 6pm. Source: Bild

    I just don't know anymore.

Thats rubbish in fairness. Time down in the Championship would have done no harm for Shay. It looks like the only playing time he'll get till next season may be with Ireland in the Nations Cup. I still can't see them selling him to a PL side.

I heard he'd be up leaving on loan with a 24 hour recall in case anything happened to Hart.

Also, while on the subject, IMO, Givens a hell of a lot better than Hart, hes made a some hilarious mistakes this season.

    Classic name!

I see Blackpool signed a new midfielder but he seems a little on the tubby side for the Premiership. I'd say he's Puncheon above his weight.

Best Jan transfers were Suarez, Luiz and Bradley.

£50m for a player that is injured more often than not is bad business while £35m for a player that has had a couple of good months is also bad business.

Muntari and Sessegnon to Sunderland was also excellent business, considering Muntari's deal can be made permanent for €7m and Sessegnon's deal is permanent for £6m.

They both seem like very good deals if they are both starters alright.Sessegnon is a central player isn't he? Bruce is hardly going to drop Cattermole and Henderson to play Muntair and Sessegnon. I mean Cattermole should be dropped because he's just not very good but he's captain so it's not going to happen.
