Good game can't remember last time we controlled a game like that was very good.

TBH they were terrible... like a pub team.

Lots of good points but disappointed with the amount Hutton gave the ball away tonight.

I thought we had the group of death but even with bad defensive injuries we managed to do very well.

Good positive points in the game - great Modric goal, lot of confident play, but Pav really should have stepped up for the penalty.
Good result to follow up on the Arsenal game, but Sunday will be a different prospect against L'pool!

Great night ! It's good to be going into the last match with no pressure on us,some good performances from Modders and Lennon.Thank god I wasn't listening to that guy on Setanta that ye are on about, must have been cruel listening to that kink of bull****

Whoever is commenting on Setanta is a total dick. Constantly making smart ass remarks about how Spurs just arent good enough. Literally, every 2nd comment is something bad.

That's why I watched it on Sky this time round. Pat Dolan really pissed me off the last time on Setanta.
(And I emailed Setanta to complain - was he on tonight?).

A comfortable win, Bremen didn't really turn up. Of course having the majority of your first team injured doesn't help.

I wonder if Harry will go for the win against Twente to try and top the group? If I remember correctly, group winners are drawn against a runner up from another group?

Inter are winning 1-0, so we are on top wit a 3 goal lead.

Is it not head-to-head though in the CL??

Anyways, great performance tonight from the lads.... well good performance. You can only beat whats put in front of you and that was a shockingly poor Bremen side with a very poor mindset. We didnt need to hit top gear. I was genuinely worried at the start that we were going to feck it up but for once Spurs win when they're expected to!!:D
Again this match showed the need for a top-class striker, perhaps if Defoe was (fully) fit I'd be singing a different tune. Perhaps we can sort someone out in the Jan transfer window. Heard Dzeko's name being mentioned over on the soccer forum, dont think he's out of reach tbh. A lot of people around Europe will have gained admiration for us after our campaign so far and I'd say we'll be able to attract more top class players on a par with VDV.
Hopefully now we'll continue our good form into the weekend and start climbing the table. I think we're on a good run against Liverpool, 3 or 4 home wins in a row (including CC)? Hopefully both VDV and Defoe will be in line to start. If not, Carra will probably get us another goal anyways...:pac:

Yup. We'd be avoiding the likes of Barca, Real, (presumably) Chelsea, United and Arsenal(:() and Bayern Munich. That would give us a massive chance on making the QF's. Really think Harry should go all out to top the group.

Carling Cup. I think the year Harry came we beat them 2-1 in the league and then 4-0 (4-1 ?) in the CC.

I actually thought we were pretty poor on the night with some woeful passing from both BAE and Modric. I also thought our wing backs defended terribly on occasion and against a better team we would have been punished. I could sense that we weren't going all out almost straight after we scored. Having said that, as THFC said you can only beat what's in front of you and what was in front of us was a very poor Bremen team who didn't seem to have any desire or interest in playing well.

3 decent goals scored and most importantly a clean sheet, and it's good to see Lennon running riot on the right because we need him to provide another option to Bale, who was marked out of it last night.

I'd love us to win the group though we have a tougher match than Inter, but it's definitely a possibility. One thing is for sure, no team will fancy playing us at home in this competition.

Teams that are through now and I put a star beside group winners

    Utd
    Valencia

    Chelsea*
    Marseille

    Shaktar*

    Lyon
    Shalke

    barca*

    Bayern

    Real*
    Milan

    Spurs
    Inter

Arsenal should go through with an easyish match against Partizan, Roma should also go through, Copenhagen have an easier match then Kazan as well I'd hate to have to make that trip to Russia so hopefully Copenhagen get second there

Couldnt stand the commentary last night on Setanta, glad someone else noticed the sheer negativity of it all. I agree that we gave away some possession without need at times with sloppy passing, but the way he was carrying on you'd think we were riding on sheer luck. Tw@t.

No. What I ment was ahead on goal difference by 3 goals.

After the win at arsenal, it would be typical spurs to only draw this game and leave us under pressure away to Twente!.

Delighted we got the win, a dull enough game but we got the goals, kept a clean sheet. I was actually impressed with hutton last night, i know he gave away a few passes but that could be said of a few others as well.
Onwards and upwards, hope we can beat the pool at the weekend and round off a super week for the spurs.

was the sort of game we needed. Won at about 70% if even.
    Twente away will be big.

As Hatch said to me earlier we need to keep winning to get the money to buy Messi in the transfer window next Summer..

danny mills was the lad on setanta. i usually quite like him and his opinions but he was very negative against spurs in general and particulaly lennon.

what the hell was bale doing taking the penalty?? silly!!

I was behind the goal in the Paxton. When the penalty was awarded, Bale was offering the ball to Pav and he signalledthat he didn't want to take it. Great reaction from the fans to chant Bale's name when he missed. Thought Modric was outstanding but Bremen offered nothing at all. Game was won after ten minutes which hopefully is good in that we can now concentrate on Sunday.
Was happy with Palacios when he came on except for one (very) loose pass. He just needs to know that he is a great tackler but he isn't Hoddle (i.e. win the ball and play an easy 5 yard pass).
I wasn't happy when Gallas joined but he totally deserved the chant of "Yiddo" when he defended well in the second half. After that performance at the Emirates, I am happy to put my hands up and say that I was wrong. Kaboul has been great alongside him (backing him at 25/1 for the first goal has not coloured my opinion in any way :D) It is hard to believe that we would be missing our three first-choice centre-backs and be talking about strong defensive performances away to Ars*na and at home in the CL.
I think that Aaron Lennon's role in two goals will be good to ease him back niceley. My major downside was the amount of times that Alan Hutton gave away the ball in the second half. I thought that he was playing very well up to last Saturday (and was arguing with friends who said that he couldn't defend) but I thought that he was taken to the cleaners on Saturday and was poor against Bremen. We need to give Corluka a run fairly soon
