Fook me, even wen Xavi makes a balls of his first touch he makes it look majestic. Very well taken goal.

Go on Xavi. Only one team in this so far.

Also, anyone else have a really annoying Geordie & American commentary team, it's actually painful to listen to.

I like the ref. Letting the play flow nicely.

I really dislike the amount superlatives the commentators use to describe Barca:mad:

Interesting game so far, both teams looking threatening around the box the key being Barca have already gotten the breakthrough.

Great vision from Ronaldo to nearly find Benzema there. Madrid are looking very dangerous on the counter-attack

I love you Xavi. Willing to have your babies.

    Great game so far.

Ronaldo's adams apple is literally an apple btw.

The standard of football just goes to show how far behind the Premier League is, despite Sky's hype machine.

Unbelievable football leading up to that goal

Get the fcuk in!! So much for this bloody Jose factor...! Ronaldo flopping as usual in a big game....

That's twice now Marcelo has been suspect at the back leading to goals, what a liability in a game like this.

There is no stopping Barca, words can't describe how good they are.

That was a fantastic team goal, the special one may have bitten off more than he can chew this time. I hope not.

because one team are playing well in a big game at home doesn't mean that the league is brilliant. If United beat Chelsea or Arsenal comfortably in a few weeks or vice versa I could make the exact same statement.

In a game which Real haven't gotten into yet, I think Ronaldo has been fairly decent, tbh.

21 passes leading up to that goal and about 20 or so before that until a Madrid defender intercepted, fantastic stuff.

so is the premier league, this view that just because the top 2 in a league win virtually every game that the overall quality is better is absolutely ridiculous.

Dunphy in being right for once shocker.

Biggest challenge of Jose's career to wrest the title from this brilliant Barca team.

Xavi >>> any player in the world.

Game is not over yet...Barcelona have a dodgy defence, nobody in Spain puts pressure on them like Chelsea do yada yada etc etc.

And the guardian's minute-by-minute has a caption of who's the best player in the world, but no picture of Xavi accompanying it..

    Or Bale

Yeah but the standard across the board is so much better. Compare something like Bolton v Blackpool or Everton v Sunderland to Villarreal v Athletico Bilbao, from top to bottom La Liga is a much better standard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,434 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Terrible decision from Jose to have Di Maria and Marcelo on the same side, or in such a big game. Marcelo is shocking at the back and is being beaten every time, most of the good Barca crosses are coming in from that side. If he was a bit more alert he could have prevented both goals.

What a game so far. Beats the hell out of watching the drivel served up on a weekly basis in England.

    Getting toasty

No need for that from Ronaldo.

    Valdez acting the bleeding muppet.

Ronaldo. Still an absolute muppet, watch him get sent off.

In fairness, every other team in the world look similarily behind Barcelona.

Why would i compare 2 top 10 (Villareal usually top 6) teams most seasons to a newly promoted team and a team having their best ever season and are still probably going to finish outside Europe. Compare Spurs versus Liverpool to that game you mentioned and you'd be about right and I would fancy Spurs and Liverpool to beat either of them.
