    Tuesday

    8 miles w/4 @ half marathon pace

    2 miles w/u @ 8:22 pace HR 135

    4 miles hmp @ (7:47, 142), (7:54, 145), (7:52, 145), (7:52, 148)

    2.11 miles w/d @ 8:55 pace HR 136

Headed down to meet the club last night for this session as there is a loop just under 2 miles which I proposed to use for this. Did a warm up loop with one of the other guys who would be a lot quicker than me so the pace was probably a bit hot for a warm up but felt fine. Left him after this to go on his merry way with his own speedwork. Most people were doing 3 of these @ 10K pace off 1 minute recovery. I did 2 loops myself to bring up the 4 miles. Parts of this were on grass and trail which were tricky on the underfoot conditions. Got through it fine and happy with result.

Headed across the road then to do a few different loops for the warm down to bring up the 8 miles for the session.

Oh it's hard to avoid people round these parts. I presume your doing the 5K in kinnegad tomorrow evening?

You obviously didn't hear P, she's in a Race Rehab centre with jcsmum. I hear cards were cut up so they couldn't register online anymore :)

I believe jcsmum has secured an elite entry to the Killarney 1/2 Marathon.

Nice run this evening judging effort by HR for most of it. Being careful with the increase in mileage this week to get the effort right for each run.

Why were we not allowed to have a vote on what to now call the log P? Like really, anyone would think that the log was just for you:rolleyes:

Theres not enough squatters on my log to have a vote. I do think jcsmum could do with a new title.

Been struck down with a near fatal dose of Man flu since Sunday. Hoping a good dose of Bruce Springsteen will help cure it tonight :)

Disaster of a few days with man flu. Even had to leave Bruce Springsteen early on Tuesday night. Hoped to run last night but fell asleep after work. Met up with the club for an easy run and felt fine.

Ah P, i was on crutches standing for the Wednesday night so if you had to leave, you must have been in bits. Couldn't leave even if i wanted to as the leg had seized up so just hopped around on the good leg. I'm putting it down as cross training.

Feck he was great the other night. If i'm that fit at 62, i'll win all round me. Then again, the way things go with me, i'll be in bits well before that:p

He was unreal alright. Where does he get the energy. What has you on the crutches? Was it one of those secret long runs?

Nah, was running with Mr S and Meno last Sunday and went over on my right ankle, badly sprained and on crutches. There's no truth to the rumour that they tried to push me into the canal.:)

No break but have it give it a bit of time off to heal. Swelling is gone and hope to walk without the crutches tomorrow. I have a multi coloured foot though that looks like a rainbow. Kinda matches my tie:p

Ah, sorry to hear that M. Rest up. I'm off to see Madonna on Tue, another old fogey whose energy I'd love to have.

Thanks but it could be far worse, i could have a break or fallen into the canal. I'll keep an ear out for the soundcheck as the Aviva is near my work but she has ten years on Bruce i guess.

Will be doing my LSR on Thursday this week if anyone wants to join me.

15 miles on the cards and will try to get it out of the way early if that suits anyone else for some or all of the run.

Myself and Mr Slow are meeting for 6-7 miles on thursday. I could extend it to 10 if you like. I have to be finished up early enough as I've golf at 5pm...

Not sure what to make of this session. Was a bit meh at the start of it but got into it. Intervals were on a 2 mile loop with gravel, tarmac, grass and trail so some parts were easier than others.

    Thursday

    14.83 miles @ 9:12 pace 138 HR

LSR this morning as I have a wedding tomorrow. Headed to the park for first time in a while. Was warm even at 9:30 this morning. Did a 5 mile loop and then headed back to the car to meet Meno for the last 10. Time definitly passed quicker as we chatted away not putting too much pass on pace.

w/u & w/d brought session to 6.61 miles. Good club session from what I remember.

    Wed 1st 14.03 miles @ 8:49.

    Sun 5th 8.31 miles @ 8:58.

    Mon 6th 4 miles @ 9.39.

w/u & w/d brought session to 7.79 miles. Another club session.

    Sun 12th 14 miles @ 9:04

Turned out to be a nice LSR with a few from the club. Felt like dying after a couple of miles, more than likely caused by a 2 day wedding on Thurs/Fri In Belmullett. Wasn't too bad in the end.

Back to work today and back to routine (hopefully). Been missing these recovery runs recently and mileage has been down a bit.

Battery seems to be gone in HRM. Anyone know where it's best to buy replacements?

    7.98 miles total.

Club session last night. Quads were feeling a bit of DOMS and I was feeling a bit tired being back at work (don't know why). Still hauled myself down and to be honest it was fine in the end. Kept pace consistent throughout and managed to hit target.

Was going to do my meduim long run today but a few of us are away the weekend so going to do our long run tomorrow evening. With the weather forecast today I think that is no harm

This training really is stop start. Legs felt good after my LSR but woke up the next morning with a pain in my big toe. Was hoping to do 11 miles on Saturday morning before the wedding but the pain was still there.

Didn't feel broken or anything but vowed to get an X-ray on Sunday if the pain was still there. One of my wifes friends is a physio and she said it could be referred pain from tightness at the front of the calf. Either way it hasn't gone away so off to see the PT tonight and see what he can do.
