XP or Win 7 for gaming PC?

Just wondering if XP is better for a 32 bit PC because it uses less resources or is the feeling that Windows 7 is the better OS? Cheers :)

Windows 7 if you have a DX10/11 GPU. Games will increasingly abandon Direct X9 and thus Windows XP. Windows 7 is great anyways. Its not a resource hog compared to Vista
