If I ever get locked up I'll have my own cell.. :(

Apart from that I allegedly have

    Massive Wages,
    Unlimited Overtime,
    Huge Time Off
    Unbelievable FREE Pension,
    No discernible work to do,
As much sick leave as I want/need

    That's the day job..

    God bless the side-line...

Practically all the Concerts and Matches that I can handle :)

I am a student so quite a few.

I have had a few jobs though

    1)Admin - Nice hours

2)Shelf stacker - ...Place beside us had cheap food:o

3)Cleaner - Got an unbeatable view of a fire works display. Got to see a big DJ perform.

;) work in same place as me so

Yowsers... should keep myself to myself!

What's worse is I have no idea who you are or what department you work in... You could be sitting over my should at any time!

    *scurries to hide in corner

    EDIT: Found ya :)

  • Only real one is travel - I get to visit different European cities for a few days at a time and the travel expenses are really generous, so I can go out to dinner with friends there and enjoy the city after work.

Back 2 years ago we had the use of a Nintendo Wii and Pool table on our breaks. They aren't there anymore....

Use to have subsidised food in the canteen, now it's more expensive than the shop that's a 10 minute walk throught the ice and rain away....

Our vending machines and canteen sweets and soft drinks are deliberately more expensive than most others around because the nurse has some bs iniative to entice people to eat healthy.

The only hot woman left for a better paying job a year ago....

    Times are tough.

If I had to pick a perk I would say.....The money I get paid has yet to be late going into my account. Good work HR Team!

    Health for all family members.
    Phone and internet.
    Flexitime.
    Free Public transport tickets.

I can work from home if I want.

No set hours; I can leave early or come in late, as long as I meet my deadlines.

I have a stipend and not a wage, so I don't pay tax.

Every so often there are big meetings and presentations with free food and wine :)

I get to sound intelligent when I tell people what I do because it sounds more impressive than it is.

I have a job. Thats the perk.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

Free laptop every year, petrol paid for, one free return flight and a weeks paid accommodation every 3 months to anywhere in the world, gym membership paid for, internet paid for and a worldwide travel insurance policy that strangely enough isn't valid in Belgium. The place that i travel to most for work. Also suppose getting to work from home or wherever i want is a big plus.

Machine that dispenses free, if lumpy, coffee, and free, if disgusting, tea.

    I work my own hours.
    I have no boss.

I will also be running at a loss for at least the next year.

When your unemployed perks are meaningless.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 847 ✭✭✭Proxy

    Used to have:
    Free food
    Free gym
    Free Health insurance
    Subsidies towards holidays abroad
    Free commuter travel
    Lots of work socials

    Now:
    Nuthin'.
Actually, less than nothing, since they cut overtime.

I'm miserable these days. But i'm happy to have a job, or so i'm told to be by every bloody person who says I can't complain about what gets me down. Since life's one big bloody misery competition.

I'm a contract engineer so not many perks these days, place I work at the moment though has a staff shop with discounts, Listerine mouthwash 500mls for €1.16 or something looney cheap like that :pac: Gym there too but I don't use it, when work is done for the day I'm gone.

    A fridge with beer

Stocked with bottles of all the main brands. Free coca cola, fanta or lucozade if you that also.

Often had a few bottles while in my last hour on Friday evening or if we have a night out planned.

It's fairly common in German or Dutch companies

coffee, water, beer, snacks, fruit, transport, gym, phone, laptop, flexi hours, work from bed :D, games room. Free ipad with mobile sub paid was the nicest one so far this year.

The one I miss most was working for a major airline with 10% flights. Asia return for less than €100 was nice... miss that!

    life assurance

    free laptop
    free internets (on a dongle)
got to go to South Africa for a month of "training" :D

Not too shabby I suppose :)

Perky nipples from hot men :pac:

I can and sometimes do work in my pyjamas.

I move my lunchbreak to 3.20pm sometimes to watch Gilmore Girls, ha, there I've said it.

I have to taste nice things and effectively get to play with play-doh a lot of the time. :)

Perks of my job are simple.

Knowing im not and never will be a lifer like some of the other people in my job.
Knowing I have a life outside of work and that Id rather have an average salary then be paid through the roof like some of the big wigs in here who eat, sleep and s**t work. Monday - Sunday, sending emails at 11pm of a Saturday night.
Senior staff get higher wages, more perks and a lower standard of life imo.

Work to Live, not Live to work!

Apart from that - second best perk - the internet :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,049 ✭✭✭gazzer

Bloody hell. Some of you guys get great perks.

What I would love in my job:

    Subsidised Gym
    Subsidised Canteen
    Air Conditioning
    A Shower

    What I get

Flexi Time (Which is a great perk)
Storage heaters which are too warm but for some reason cant be adjusted so we have to open the windows to cool down and then we get too cold and the whole cycle starts again.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,986 ✭✭✭✭mikemac

I could see that ending well over here...

Well there are Dutch and German companies in Ireland, I suppose I wasn't clear
THis was an office in Dublin

I was told about the free beer before I started, no way would I believe it
    But it was true :)

Everyone from the top boss to the young lad in the mailroom had a few beers on Friday evening or before a night out.
Some people went too far though, having 6 bottles as you sit by your computer would be frowned on but some did just that

Excellent exclusive toilet on the 6th floor.

Equipped with top of the range paper/daily newspapers/scents and piped musak.

Wide cubes with good solid commodes and good flush if things are a little er.. loose.

Floor to ceiling wall and doors on the stalls and well heated and kept in pristine

condition by the lovely Jurghita, who is such an angel.

Even when after a fairly hefty curry & chips last week I cramped up a bit in a meeting and had to 'unload' kinda rapid and well... suffice to say there was a very 'wide footprint'

Jurghita was in attendance and just tittered behind her hand and said.

"Meester Flutt, dats a bad wun,but the onions seem a bit underdone, don't worrrry I will feex"

You can't buy perks like that.

    Free Gym.
5% discount off the purchase price of our €1,000,000 servers. (I'm not kidding).
Up to 20% off the price of Lenovo laptops.
Discounts in many of the shops in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Dublin.
    Free IT training/certification.
    I can work from home.
Free LOLS and FAILS when reading emails from management/colleagues who seem to have negative IQ's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 344 ✭✭veXual

Just came straight out of college into my job last June and it's an absolute Godsend:

    Subsidised Canteen
    VHI
    Access to free Gym
An abundance of free training, I've learned more here the last six months than I ever did in college.
Great free staff nights out, where we are also instructed not to come to work until after 12 the next day.

But most importantly there's a great bunch of people here especially my manager he's all about improving our group and moving us up the ladder by far one of the biggest perks of my job.

That's a perk of your job? Wow, I do that even in my free time.

    My job:
Virtually not even a job, don't really get paid.
Levels of attentiveness vary with no consequences.
    Responsibility is self-determined.
Nobody cares if you're a slacker.
