Does a ban get lifted automatically

Does a ban get lifted automatically after 7 days or is it the "power" of the moderator on whether they let me stew for another bit? How does it work? PS: I dont want to PM that moderator in PI who banned me.

It gets lifted automagically. Have you tried recently? (ie: after 9pm)
