Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There seems to be a good bit of stuff in the British Pathé archives that's worth a watch. Search for your team!

It's funny, I was just watching an Arsenal match from 1948 in which the voiceover states "slick first-time passing gives the crowd plenty to shout about" — nothing's changed, eh?

This YouTube channel also has some old(er) footage (a little harder to watch, but still interesting), including this Merseyside derby from 1902:

That's class. The music makes it really eerie though!

Here's a good one of Ireland beating England 2-0 at Goodison Park in 1949, England's first defeat on home soil to a foreign team:

Here's an interesting bit of trivia some might not have heard. A match between Wales and Ireland at Wrexham in 1906, which ended 4-4, is the oldest international match on film in the world. There was a programme a few months back which aired the footage. Can't remember which one. Maybe ESPN Classics. Pretty fascinating anyway.

Hmm, interesting how credit for Éire's victory is given mostly to "Lady Luck".
