Has anybody got any recommendations on shore fishing spots in the Cork area? What baits are best to use in those areas etc

Also ive seen people fishing along the road in Monkstown, what fish are caught there and what baits are used?

The wall in Monkstown people are catching Cod and whiting, also you can fish for Conger there,

best bait is peeler crab, but mussel, lugworm and razor work well there too, i find its best fished on a really slack tide during daylight

There is a great spot on the Ballycotton cliff walk where you can catch Pollock, Bass easily and Mackerel.

Its point 7 on the map

I use a fairly light spinning rig and use various spoons of brass and steel and the odd rubber jig.

In Monkstown the pier and carpark can be good too and less snaggy than the wall.

Kinsale bridge and Youghal are also handy spots for cod and whiting.

At Cobh Deepwater quay almost anything can turn up - behind the train station.

These are the main winter spots. During summer almost everywhere will produce something.
