Ocean FM streaming has stopped working and RTE are ignoring live counts from Sligo/North Leitrim. What's the latest?

Perrys surplus of 865 being distributed. Gapn between Colreavy and Scanlon is 674.

Perry elected -- counting his surplus -- so looks like McLaughlin is in and it is a toss up with Colreavy and Scanlon for last seat. Colreavy is tipped for last seat.

Will he be the only one getting in above the quota?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,335 ✭✭✭✭UrbanSea

Wait. Have they to tally the 600 odd votes?

There's a chance Tony McLaughlin will get the quota on the redistribution of Perry's vote, but realistically there is no way that Scanlan is going to overtake Colreavy at this point. The count at this stage is a formality.

    Sin-é in that case.

No. McLoughlin may also cross the line. Gets messy sums-wise now. If that happens and his surplus is greater than the difference between the 2 last remaining then his surplus has to be distributed. Gear up for a possible hour more.

    Count 8

    PERRY, John FG 11973
    McLOUGHLIN, Tony FG 10981
    COLREAVY, Michael SF 9616
    SCANLON, Eamon FF 8942

Perry Has passed the quota, and has been elected.

Suplus of 865, this is nail bitting.

It's just formality really at this stage.

delighted to see macsharry out on his ear, trying to hang on daddies coattails really pisses me off and this goes for ALL parties - we have a system that reflects rotten boroughs. Macsharry senior came to my door and I told him apart from being of a sound mind and could not vote FF on these grounds, my MAIN REASON FOR NOT TOUCHING Macsharry was because I despise this kind of inherited seats politics.

Yeah, of all candidates (well Veronica Cawley is also a muppet) was glad this parachute candidate was told where to get off.

The great MacSharry White Hope FF Myth has been at last being exploded!

The two FG candidates are pretty tragic, eg being their U-turn on Bridge at Cleveragh -- Colreavy seems a nice enough chap -- pity we couldn't have got a Labour candidate in to ensure Cancer Services.

Looking forward to Merc and Jude the Hopeless striving for FF ticket next time around.:) PS Merc, trying getting on Co Council or Corpo -- I just hope they shut the Seanate ASAP

PS - Go Ming -- pity there isn't a like candidate in Sligo.

Do RTE have no reporters or cameras in Sligo/N Leitrim, 8 counts so far and hardly any mention of them.

When they concede defeat does the count stop?

    Colreavy got the third seat.

    Edit:
RTEsligoNORTHLEITRIM: Outgoing FF TD Eamon Scanlon has conceded defeat in the battle to be reelected in Sligo North Leitrim. He said he's disappointed.#sonl #ge11

Was thinking the exact same thing.

There was a guy reporting from Sligo earlier today but I have only seen him once.

    Edit:

Since when??? Surplus to be distributed yet. You can concede but the count has to go on for legal reasons.

I'd assume so. I dont even know how Scanlon got this far, watching his opening speech at the Bigticket, it looked/sounded like he had given up then, totally dwelled on the past rather than what he could/intended to do if reellected.
