Is the "I've a job", the new "when you have children you'll understand" argument winner?

It seems every argument nowadays is won by "I've a job and......."

An example of this is when out with friends in the pub, college or social gathering.

    (PUB)
"I've a job and I know mora than you about politics and the recession"

    (COLLEGE)
"I know more than you about what we're studying cause I've a job"

    (Social Gathering)(Church)
"I've a job and God loves me more"

    Anybody else come across this?
    and BTW "I've a job"

No, sounds like a stupid response to an argument (not that you are stupid, people who say that to you are).
Lots of people have jobs. What would happen then if 2 people with jobs argued over a point?
    They would both be right?
    Madness i tell you, madness!

I've a job and I know more than you about it because it's my job to.

Getting to the point you do notice it the odd time, hardly adds any weight to an argument unless you happen to be talking to a brain surgeon about brain surgery.

"As a parent" is the one that grinds my gears.

No...think people might be playing mind games with you.

An old housemate of mine who is ironically now unemployed himself was pointing out before that he felt like it was the other way around. Because so many were unemployed, they were becomming elitists against the workers.

"How can you complain?, At least you have a job"

The agrument is then won by who earns more!

    Example

"I've a job and make 29k a year and you only mke 24k so I know more"

Students have dealt with a form of this for years from mature students. "My wealth of life experience leads me to believe...'any aul crap''"

Ugh it isn't proper English to say "I've a job" so you can respond with that next time.

There is no contracted form for 'Have' in the positive form.

I hear ya OP, some people just think they have the right to dictate to other people and will use any excuse to mark their "superiority".

Argument winners in order of effectiveness (last year's rankings in brackets) :

    1. Predator Drone (-)

    2. Gun (1)

    3. Knife (2)

    4. Garrote (4)

    5. Saying: ..when you have children, you'll understand... (3)

Yeah that's the other end of the scale. I'd be in the middle of the scale where I get to be patronised by both ends. ;)
