Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads I have an Altura jacket and the zip has gone assways, its fecked. I'd hate to have to throw out what is otherwise a perfectly good jacket, so I was wondering if theres anywhere that'll replace a zip? I had a jacket before where the same thing happened, I got a new zip put into it but after a few cycles in the wet the zip seized up and refused to co-operate. Are there special waterproof zips that You can get?
    Cheers.

If its less than a year old you may have luck returning it

If you think it is worth it, any half decent tailor or seamstress should be able to replace it. If you decide on a metal Zip put something like petroleum jelly on it. I have broken a few plastic ones due to the overlap getting caught up in it (very annoying).
The plastic zips are actually OK provided you close and open them slowly and if the overlap snags just back it off and redo. If you force them they break easily.

It's called the Zipyard - got the zip in my Goretex jacket renewed a couple of weeks ago - better than having to buy a new one :)

Seems to be a common occurrence on the Altura gear, read the reviews on Wiggle etc. Had a set of Altura MTB shorts and the same thing happened - a new meaning to "b@lls out all the way" ;)

I reckon it should be fixable tho.

Zip went on my altura jacket cost about €20 to get a normal zip fitted as a replacement. I'd avoid buying another altura jacket because of this though.
