I got a new laptop a month ago. Everything was going grand until about a week ago, when the internet at home started refusing to work properly on it.
    We have a UPC package.
My laptop says that it is connected, but when I open a browser it insists there are no connections. I run a troubleshoot and it doesnt see a problem. It occasionally works for Facebook and the Google Talk programme, but for everything else it claims it is offline.
The internet connection in college and elsewhere works perfectly on it.
The internet is performing perfectly on my 3 housemates laptops.

Any ideas? I'm fit to throw it at a wall at this point.

Am writing this from college btw, so any help as soon as possible would be much appreciated.

Did you make any adjustments to it as a result of using it in college?

No adjustments. It currently now goes between deciding its online for Skype/Gtalk/facebook and offline for everything else (while saying its got full signal) and being totally offline (while, again, stating its fully working).

Have you tried connecting by ethernet?

ARe you sure you did not set up a proxy to access your college network?
