Hi, we're heading to Sligo for a stag this weekend and just wanted to know what the hot spots are. We're heading to the Belfry on the Friday night and we're also looking for a good night club to go to afterwards. Is the Velvet Lounge our best bet for both nights? We're going Clay Pigeon shooting on Saturday and was looking for a good pub to go to afterwards at 17.15 for the NZ Vs Wales game and a bit of grub. Not too sure after that. Any suggestions?

Belfry or Mchughs would be my recomendation to watch the rugby in. Check with the Velvet Lounge if open on a friday night, and to see if they except stags, may turn you away if a dozen lads turn up at the door, go in in 3s or 4s. Dress code as well, smart/casual, no trainners.

Another night club just opened is Pure, never in it my self, replaced Envy if your familar. Might want to check out the Garvouge as well, usally has a band followed by DJ on a friday night, late bar till after 2am with no cover charge.

Velvet Room won't be open anyway on a Friday night

They do some times open on a friday, not sure if its all the time or just a seasonal thing.

They never used to before but think they started this year.

Most likely they won't be open Friday and Pure only opened for the grad last Friday. Toff's (best bet) or Clarence for Friday, although a late bar may be a better idea. Saturday Velvet of Pure or maybe the Clarence if they have a big DJ. Toff's is poor of a normal Saturday at the moment.

As far as late bars on a Friday go the Garavogue usually gets a decent crowd

McHugh's or the Garavogue would be good for grub while watching the match.

Sound lads, think we'll hit the Garavogue Bar for the match and probably head to the Velvet Lounge after. Friday night is still up in the air but we'll sort something when we arrive. Cheers for the suggestions. :)
