Carrick - easily the best player on the pitch tonight.
    Smalling
    Berb.

I think rafael played fairly well tonight considering they played him at left back.

Good 3 points to have secured and leaves the younger lads to get a taste of Europe in the next match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,852 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

i honestly think Carrick only had one misplaced pass, 100% tackles and calmed it down when it needed to be calm, quickened it up when the pass was on

    Class tonight

Scholes our best player? He was v good ye but not our best by a long shot.

Ranger as a home team needing a win = disappointing .

That's it I refuse to renew my TV licence next week to pay these jokers on RTE. They really try to hard to be controversial.

Yeah, couldn't believe i heard that. Nani has arguebly been our best player this season. Pure muppetry. Can't survive without Rooney? Yeah, that's why we're joint top of the league and through to the second round of the champs league without conceding a goal.

Not sure but don't we need at least a draw in the next game to get 1st spot, I think finishing 2nd would be a bit risky considering the teams we could get. SoSo can't play all the kids :-)

    1. Scholes
    2. Smalling
    3. Carrick

Winning again while playing not so well shouldn't be a bad omen!

I don't know what you were watching, but rangers certainly did not have the best chances.

They played overly defensive, and deserved to lose.

Also, some statistics to back up my points.

United had 12 shots on target, 8 off target, and 13 corners.

Rangers had a massive total of 7 shots altogether, 5 on target, and 2 off target, and a whopping 1 corner.

Are they trying to say that Coleen beats him!

Ya he did look good alright. He was so deep though that going on them runs got him in trouble. If rangers had of been more adventurous he would have been better utilised.

Think we have to lose by 2 clear goals to lose top spot.

First time I've ever been happy United won. :( I feel sick. I hate teams that park the bus, Rangers needed to win and still played for a ****ing draw.

Is he a left back or something? He was quite composed and confident on the ball its just the end product that let him down.

Would be interested to hear some Rangers fans opinions, if they are still here :)

Add to that we had a young boy playing CM that has played two games in the league cup

As rediculous as the whole golf talk was there they did have a point about how a sports person can be broken by certain events.

Stupid of McCoist and Smith though to not let their players press forward more in the second half!

Lets not pretend it was just because Rangers were playing Man Utd that Smith went with that formation, he uses that horrible negative tactic no matter what team he plays in Europe.
