Cool, we have a good gang of musicans together now. As for the singing, you do not wanna hear me trying that, I'll stick to the auld six string. But, anyone else already going up for some singing, or would we even need a singer?

KAnois you are welcome to come along, would you be up for playing guitar with us (don't think any of the songs we have has thin whistle in them!) or just sing along?

Anyway, here's the complete song list (now with added links!):
    1. Baba o Riley
    2. Enter Sandman
    3. Californication
    4. Cochise
    5. Night Prowler
    6. I Wanna be Adored
    7. New Year's Day
    8. Rocking in the Free World (the Neil Young Version I presume?)
    9. Bad Penny

I think that might be enough to keep us going for the four hours.

Good stuff, looking forward to it,

Well you know more than I do now. Really have to fight the will to veg out over the next couple of weeks and not leave the songs I don't know 'till the last minute.

Really looking forward to this know, should be great crack. I'll book the place a week before hand and let ye know the cost then, but should be less than a tenner each given the numbers that we could have coming. Anyway, I don't think there is much more to say until then, so have a good Christmas lads.

And merry xmas to all as well.........would i be right in saying most of ye lads have played in bands before? i played a bit in the early nineties in a band doing original stuff...played the drums...came to nothing but was great while it lasted.......playing the bass now last four years or so, no expert but competent enough......so can only improve playing with other musicians...hopefully:D

Just a bump as I'm gonna go about booking this sometime this week. Gonna look for the 2- 6 slot this Saturday afternoon. The price for that time is €50, but given the amout of people that siad that they were interested, the price that we would each pay should be less than €10.

So, can I just get a confirmation from people who are definatly going at this stage?

Cool man, thanks for the reply.

I hoping to book it tomorrow, but I would feel more comfortable doing so if more people replied and told me whether they are going or not. So, who is still in?

As the thread title says, if there are any Cork-based musicians interested in meeting up for a jam, get your names down here and we'll try to sort something out.

For the record I'm 31 and I play bass and guitar.

If you read through the rest of the thread you will be able to figure out when and where people are meeting up. Although I started the thread, circumstances conspired against my being able to participate.

So far it is me, Wooden Jesus (+ possible 2) and Menolia.

Thanks for that! I was actually going to throw a few instruments into the car and drive down to meet up anyway but I've got stuff to do this Saturday now so I can't even do that much. Best of luck with it anyway! Hope someone brings a camera so we can get some gear pics!

Actually, a camera would be a great idea. Could prove to all the doubters that it actually went ahead! If some one could bring one it would be nice, I actually don't have one myself.

Maybe we could see you the next time Malice.

Yeah, I hope so. Even if I don't end up moving back down to Cork, I have a few friends that I could crash with for a weekend night so I'd just bring down a few guitars, my tube head and my Pod XT and I'd be all set. I'd even have a ready-made excuse for going boozing afterwards ;).

I think theres a drum kit already there. Last time i checked the website im fairly sure they had amps and a drumkit. I suppose all you need is a few cymbals

The last time I was there all we needed for the drums was a set of sticks which you can get from the vending machine if you don't happen to have any on you. The hihat that was supplied was a bit wonky but everything else was fine.

Not sure, I might get a lift up there or take the bus. I know that there is a bus that runs from Merchants Quay that runs right up outside the industrial estate where the rehersal space is, so might take that, would be cheaper than the taxi.

For those of you who are actually going to turn up tomorrow, I shall be the guy with long hair, a bit of a smig and a Gibson hardcase, standing outside the rehersal place waiting for some one to mention the word "Boards" to me. Hope to see you tomorrow.

PS. I got your PM Wooden Jesus
PPS. I'm too tired to type properly, I hope the above makes sence.

Well, this has already gone ahead, might not be one for another couple of months, but keep an eye out for it in the future.
