The Sally Gap is impassable due to icy conditions. Avoid the area.

    Polar Low.

What track is this forcasted to take?

  • Registered Users Posts: 139 ✭✭faktisperminute

but it moves away from us not towards us

  • Registered Users Posts: 295 ✭✭Winger_PL

    Polar Low.

Was it expected at all or is it a completely new development?
Will it not prevent the winds from turning NE at the east coast within the next 12-24 hours, thus eliminating the snow potential for this part of the country?

I believe the western half of the country could be in line for these snow showers. This has to be watched very closely!

you can't anticipate them. they just pop up and live a short life.

I feel that the winds will move to a NE or E has this move's through.

    Maq

I spotted this earlier too but discounted it as it surely would have been spotted by ME and others if it was going to happen. I also wondering why the winds have not shifted from their NNW pattern all day when they were due to shift to N and then NNE nefore turning NE tonight.

Interesting find and one to keep an eye on.

for what it is worth, that system originated off the north west coast of norway yesterday morning and has tracked its way SW since then

Will we get any snow showers down here?

I,m relying it to stay on it's current path, but Sky weather just confirmed it moving down the northwest and west of the country i don't know how reliable that is, But I,m only giving you my 2cents worth.;)
