    Hey folks,

M little brothers hamster went missing last night. My Mother was feeding it at around 11.00 last night and obviosly left the cage open! Woke up this morning and it was gone!

An ideas how to fid it? Where do they usually try and hide out or what kind of food/smell could attract it out of where it is?

House is fairly big btw, 14 rooms.

Oh that's so annoying! Our hamster escaped last week , was missing for 2 days. All we done was put his bed and his food on the floor of the room we were hoping he was in. Food and bedding were gone the next morning so we just bought a humane mouse trap and we had him that evening.

Try and find out what room he is in and then put down a trap. Can get them in woodies for a few euro.

He's gonna be hungry so put some food out, sprinkle some flour and maybe you can see his footprints!

The first thing, which room is he hiding in? Lay food out in the room you and close all the doors!

Here's a good suggestion: This one is pretty good. Get a small bucket, (tall enough so the hamster couldn't climb out) Put a towel or something that will help the hamsters landing inside the bucket. Put some strong smelling fresh food inside the bucket. Now stack a bunch of phone books or something leading up to the bucket. If the hamster is hungry enough he will jump into the bucket and won't be able to climb out. Also put a piece of food on each step leading to the bucket to encourage him to keep climbing.

Ours loved to hide behind the fridge! She will most likely be against a wall or in a corner.

Try putting the cage on the floor and leave the door open she might just climb back in by her self, one of ours used to.

If that fails put a small amount of food in every room and close every single door before you go to bed. Put the same amount of pellets, say five pieces in each room. In the morning count the pellets in each room. If there is some missing from one room then you will know that the hamster is defiantly in that room. And you can just focus on searching that room!
