Looking forward to this one. I don't think Roy is though!
Modders played brilliant last night and Aaron set up 2 goals.
I think as the game drew on, he got more confident and played like he can.
Least we forget, Lennon was class last year.
As Harry said after the City home game last year, "I said to them to just give him the ball!"
It was great to see us get a clean sheet as well.
I know the opposition weren't great but Gallas and Kaboul looked sharp.
I hope we can push on from last week's heroics.
I'm going for 4 nil Spurs.
    Jermaine Defoe.......he's a yiddo:D
Have a goodun Larry and all those heading over.

Yeah it was really good to see Lennon threaten so much, and for him to be well fed by some great passes by Hutton. More of the same please. If he plays that way it makes us very difficult to live with because you're obviously going to double-mark Bale, but what about Lennon and VDV?

I'm hoping we win. I said in another thread that there's no point in beating Arsenal away only to not beat Liverpool at home. A good, up-for-it performance with a couple of goals and a clean sheet, send them home empty handed again.

I would do ANYTHING to see us maul them, im not feeling it but sure will I'm gonna say a 4-1 win. Defoe with 3 and VDV with the other.

Nice and optimisitc there ziedth...i like it :)

I'm (obviously) hoping for a win, and a comfortable one at that. All we need to do is contain Gerard and Torres, and we should do fine. Need to be solid at the back though, as Torres has been dangerous lately.

    contain Gerard and Torres

Gerard is out injured at the moment. We need to contain Maxi and Kuyt

WB offered no attacking threat what so ever mid week, I expect Torres to be more of a handful. As usual it will be a case of who scores the most. 3-2 or 4-2 to Spurs!

Could be a start for JD by the looks of it...

Harry Redknapp rates Rafa van der Vaart's chances as '50-50, at best' to face Liverpool on Sunday.

The Dutch playmaker picked up an injury just above his anke in Saturday's 3-2 win against Arsenal and that ruled him out of Wednesday's Champions League victory over Werder Bremen.

Jermaine Jenas is Harry's other main doubt after limping off early against Werder Bremen with a calf problem.

"Rafa's chances are 50-50, at best," reported Harry on Friday morning (November 26).

"He's not going to train with us today, so tomorow is really the last chance for him to be fit.

"We did okay though on Wednesday night, played with two strikers and always looked dangerous.

"Jermain Defoe is also getting fit and he will be involved again. If Rafa's fit, great, but he's doubtful.

"JJ has a tight calf and he's going for a scan today. We're all hoping it's not a tear, we'll have to wait and see on that one."

Good news sees Michael Dawson return to full training with the first team this morning.

Ledley King (groin) remains out alongside longer-term injuries Jonathan Woodgate (groin) and Jamie O'Hara (back).

    Great to see Dawson back,

Any idea how long Ledley will be out?

He's going to see a specialist now in Denmark to see whether surgery or conditioning is the best course of action. I'd say it'll be another month if he's lucky.

As I have said before, we are better off forgetting about Ledley and building without him. As good as he is , we cannot rely on him.

He should be considered no more than 4th choice IMO. If he is available when someone else is injured then great but we should not be relying on him to be a star performer once a week. Ideally I'd like a new CB to partner Dawson with Kaboul 3rd choice and Ledley to fill in if required.

As for the Liverpool game: I'm not convinced that Lennon and Bale should be the widemen in a 4-4-2 or a 4-4-1-1; they both hug the touchline leaving us looking very open through the centre of midfield. If you look back to the start of last season we had Lennon RM and Modric/Kranjcar on the left but tucking and making us more compact through the middle. Lennon's injury coincided with Bale's intorduction to the team and we usually had Bentley or sometimes Modric on the right playing a lot narrower than Lennon does. We can get away with Lennon and Bale together against weaker opposition, but against stronger teams I think it's a huge risk to leave ourselves so light in the centre.

Really looking forward to this one. As Spurs fans in Ireland we are outnumbered by the masses supporting Man u and Liverpool over here. It always give me great pleassure when we beat either (doesn't happen very often i admit but it is sweet when it does). We are playing great stuff at the moment and I cannot see anything other than a home win on Sunday.
Keep Torres quiet and we should win.

Great times to be a Spurs supporter going into a game against Liverpool with so much optimism.

Info for anyone going to the match, there's a tube strike planned starting 7pm on Sunday, November 28 and ending at 7pm on Monday, November 29
    http://www.tfl.gov.uk/

I am writing to let you know that the RMT and TSSA unions have called a Tube strike. If the strike goes ahead, there is likely to be disruption to Tube services from the evening of Sunday 28 November and throughout Monday 29 November.

We expect London Overground, DLR and Tramlink to run as normal, but they may be busier than usual. In addition, extra Bus and River services will be in operation. Cycling or walking may also be practical options for many.

We will keep as many stations open as possible and will run as many trains as we safely can, so please check local news and travel reports.

For information before the planned strike, outlining the services we intend to run and stations that we expect to be closed, or for live travel news during the strike, please visit tfl.gov.uk

Thankfully I'll just be using the overground rail for this one!

Liverpool dont worry me in the middle of the park, they dont exactly have someone who could control the game in there. Torres for me is the obvious danger.

If Wilson P can play as well as he did against Bremen on W ednesday night he'll do well for us against Liverpool.

Winning tomorrow would make this a really good game week

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Yeah it would bring us nicely closer to the top few. Stoke taking two points from City means we really need to use the game tomorrow as an opportunity to catch up with them.

500th post (woo-hoo!) Never been as confident going into a match against the 'Pool!

Beating Arsenal, Bremen and Liverpool on the trot would be quite an achievement. Hope it happens.

Palacios really needs to sort out his short game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Terrible first half 1 down we need Harry to light a rocket under us doesn't help to Loose VDV and Kaboul so early either palacios is killing our play

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,778 ✭✭✭✭Kold

Would like Sandro on for Wilson but Arry will save the last sub to bring Pav on for Crouch.

Wilson is so out of sorts. BAE has slipped up a few times too.

Been terrible so far, if palas can wake up we should control midfield.
