    Heya,

Im planning my stag do for the end of January and i want go go to Galway on the friday night and maybe head out to one of the islands on saturday for the night. Has anybody got any advice on how to go about getting out to the islands (dunno which one is the better choice) and where to stay or travel with. Any help would be great, we talking about 10-15 guys and not a roudy bunch.

    Thanks

It's easy to get tickets out to Inishmore, the largest island, in the city.
You can drive to Rossaveal or take the bus provided by the ferry companies from city centre. There's also flights.

As Biko has pointed out. I have been to the islands a good few times and personally always found the small one the best craic.

Go to Inismor and stay at Kilronan Hostel which is right in the centre. They are relaxed there and you get your own key so no pressure for being home at a certain time :). The only thing is it will be January and personally I find the islands to be a bit dry at that time without the tourists (trying to get a piece of irish) as the islanders can be a bit snobby and dry. Also if its raining it's no buzz at all. I'd stick with the city.
