DAB radio on domestic wireless broadband

Does anyone know if DAB can be operated on a domestic wireless broadband installation. A techie working for my broadband provider suggested it could but likened it to streaming in terms of download allowance usage. I'm in Galway where DAB isn't available yet.

get a DTT stick for your PC/Laptop
has all the DAB stations. Can be received in Galway.

The Online RTE quality is very low to stream the stations. If you listened all day it would impact your cap.
