How to use Mac book to control Desktop PC?

SIL has surround sound speakers in her living room which are wired to a desktop PC which is in the room next door, she uses the speakers to mainly play music from youtube and spotify.

They have just got a Mac book and are wondering how they can use the Mac book to tell the desktop what music to play?

The Mac book uses the wireless router wired to the desktop to access the internet. The desktop is running Vista Ultimate.

Is there an easy solution to make this happen?

One way of doing what you want is to install Microsoft Remote Desktop Client for Mac OS X on the Mac. The software and installation instructions are below together with a link to "How To" instructions.

Actually it comes installed with Office 2011, I have no idea why its in
the Microsoft Office suite though

i would reccomend tightvnc, free easy to use unbelievably straight forward and works on every os ive tried... whats not to like
