True dat, I worry when we get snow, because if we're getting snow the rest of the country must have a few feet of it. :pac:
Just a quick question, is there any reason why we so rarely get snow here compared to just about everywhere else?

I think that Dublin and Wicklow are more exposed and when a North Easterly blows it brings precipitaton to the East (Dunlin) and South East (Wicklow/Wexford). An Eastwind also brings snow to Dublin/Wicklow. I think a North/North-West wind would be better for you.

    Where are you Eoineo?

On the border with East Meath.
A family member rang as they were leaving the castle and said it was snowing so they were heading home.

I wonder will it hit Navan at all now. It appears to be tracking further north. We might catch the back end of it

Oh holy crap, about twenty minutes ago there were some lovely cumulus clouds gathering over Finglas...
Just checked now, everything has changed!
The whole sky is pink and it looks sooo inclement! Rolling its way to D15!

Live facing the Dublin Mountains on the foothills, the biggest dirtiest filthy clouds are on the way over the hills, temp has dropped 2 degree's in 15mins. They look like thunder clouds for all the world, already have 4 inches of lying snow here with plenty on the way in the next while.

looks that way but its painfully slow ,

I think our best bet will be when the winds change direction around 9-12 to an easterly flow , hopefully a few showers will bubble up from the Irish sea

Lower avenue rd. Back to grauppel again here now. still pretty persistent.

[edit] lol back to the heavy stuff again. From the looks of it on radar it hasn't even begun to snow in drogheda and it looks like we're getting at least another hour or two of what's coming down now...

The wee system around Louth is not going to track towards Connaught, the upper low will make sure of that if the NAE forecasts are correct.

What's more likely to happen is that this LP is going to head into Meath, in a SW direction, probably missing Dublin, while it decays after it moves over land. It will probably die out around the Westmeath area.

Really ? Think it should be here about 8 or 9 ? Maybe Im missing something .
