Define short term?
Some of the midband providers offer 1 or 2 week trials.

"Mobile broadband", the likes of vodafone. Its fine for browsing but has very high latency as far as I know.

Sorry I don't anyone that does 1/3 month contracts.

think meteor mobile broadband have a pay as you use type system. Im a bit cloudy on the details though
