    I'll put my hands up here and say I dont like Muslims at all. It was probably pretty obvious from my earlier posts on this thread anyway. I wasnt always abit of a bigot with regards to Muslims but I had my eyes opened living near Birminghamalabad in the UK and also 2 years on tour in the Middle East.

    Why would you take offence to that? Its an abreviation. Is it offensive to refer to a Catholic as a Tim? I certainly wouldnt take offence to that

    I think your just trying to play the victim here

    Sectarian Bigots, from the same people who created "Police cops"

    John de Jean Fraser (born John Frazer near Birr 1809, died in Jervis Street, Dublin, in 1852) was the writer of that song, and the father-in-law of Tom Luby. He seems to have been a freelance journalist, and editor of the Dublin paper called the Advocate.

    Another verse from the song:

    "Come, pledge again thy heart and hand
    One grasp that ne'er shall sever;
    Our watchword be 'Our native land' -
    Our motto: 'Love forever'."

    What have you got against Italian politcians? They're no more corrupt and inefficient than our own.

    Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Sectarianism between Protestants and Catholics is what the Proclamation was talking about in "cherishing all of the children of the nation equally and oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien government".

    I recently talked to the daughter of someone who grew up in Donnybrook, then just outside Dublin, in the years at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. "Oh, he was quite Irish," she told me. "Irish through and through." Then she went on that the Protestant children would then play on one side of the street, while the "RC" children played on the other.

    We must be very careful to avoid any of this, in a republic where such sectarianism seems utterly foreign to us now. Religion is a private matter, and should be left so.

    Its a tag used by Scottish Protestants to identify people of an Irish, Catholic heritage who came to Scotland during the famine. Comes from "Tim Malloy", a generic term used for these people a bit like "John Bull" was used as a generic term for the English.
