There is a front due to pass over the UK from the north sea tonight, and it's meant to swing around and come down over the eastern half of Ireland too. We'll see...

Okay there definately seems to be a mixed bag of information going on here. With the increase in temperature, is there any chance of the crazy snow hitting south dublin ?

if it didnt work at the Dail, what chances does it have of working there?

    Steady rain.

    Significant thaw.

Think this will set the scene for the night here in my opinion.

Steady thaw with sleety showers now and again and perhaps heavier sleet overnight

The forecast is not based on that radar image. The forecast is based on the output of computer weather models mixed with human forecaster experience.

Radar is only useful for tracking precipitation that already exists and that could impact you in the coming minutes or few hours. It is useless 12-24 hours in advance.
