Man, it would be a shame if the snow in d15 now turned to rain or started a thaw :|

How near are you to the coast Weathercheck? Hopefully temps will recede quickly again after this precipitation has past.

Is there any time-frame in which this mental stuff is supposed to start? I'm working until 11pm and worried about getting home.

Heavier precip seems to be expected north of Wexford.

Coming down pretty heavy in blanch now.

Back to the usual stuff from last year i think.

Heavy snow 5miles inland, rain/sleet by the coast.

Important to keep in mind that the Met Eireann weather warning only applies to tonight and following through tomorrow. Its not applying to this afternoon.

My gut feeling is that they're going to be wrong for tonight aswell. Only showers that will move in more than 8km are going to fall as snow I expect. The isle of man has only half the sea between it and Britain and even still its temperature is about 3 degrees. It won't get going on a more widespread basis until the temp is below 2 degrees. The air approaching Dublin this evening is roughly coming from there. This reading is based on the METAR report from the airport here.

Jesus Christ. When they a forecast of no snow everyone on here is saying Met Eireann is wrong. Then when they do forecast snow yis are all on here saying they are wrong. Stop mentioning them if they can never be right.

Light snow in Clondalkin/Lucan now. It looks nice, but it's doing nothing for ground coverage.
