After that horrible 4 hour 30 min journey from DCU there had better be one of two things.

That's the kicker. For those of us who have to work, a dump of snow that comes during the workday is going to make for a lot of miserable commuters tomorrow evening.

That one crazy day last winter was a nightmare for commuters around the East. Took me 6 hours to get home. I really don't want a repeat tomorrow. Much better that we get a dumping overnight and work from home :-)

I think that we can all assume (considering lightning generally isn't a very localised event) that when someone has heard loud thunder after a bright flash of lightning, it can most likely be seen / heard all over Dublin.

Unless of course we have special storms that give each post code their own little thunder storm (that noone else can see/hear) lol :p

Oh my giddy aunt...just opened the front door to look at what I could hear against the window. Daughter stuck her hand out to catch some graupel, big blue flash and almost instant crash of thunder right on top of us. Change of pants now required, scared the bejaysus out of us.

expect a significant rise in temps in the next hour, wind has backed from NNW to NNE and now to NE (Dun Laoghaire)...might still fluctuate a bit...
