    lol I only found out what it was tonight , it's a little fancy word these weatherphiles use to describe those little beady balls of snow , not exactly snow not exactly hail but inbetween or a bit of both lol Ii could be wrong!! :D

    I followed these sort of threads last year and can't remember the word 'graupel' ever being used.

    It has to be the word of the day today on boards.

    For all intents and purposes, its like very small, but light hail. Usually lands on the ground looking like tiny balls of styrofoam / polystyrene.

    Its basically like light hail, blows around in the wind but looks like hail
