    so while I extole the virtues of the snow sock, I think it might be an idea to invest in some winter tyres - so where does one find them in Cork like? what brand should I be looking for and what bobs are we talking?

    I bought a 2 sets of Nokian W+ from www.eiretyres.com last night.

    One set for a small car, 64 euros each, up 9 euro from last week.
    The second set for a mid size car, 87 euro each. (Delivery included in price)
    Not sure about a delivery date yet.

    Kicking myself I didn't order them in August/September. :rolleyes:

    I wouldn't hold out much hope for buying them in Cork.
    The more people that buy them online the better, then tyre outlets might get the message and start stocking them.
