In Dunlavin in West Wicklow, more snow that the last 2 years. A foot and a half in places. Roads completely blocked, even with 4 wheel drives.

:)Spread your wings - while boards is the source of all truth, there are other online knowledge pools like wikipedia, which says...

Graupel (also called small hail, soft hail, or snow pellets; METAR code: GS)[1] refers to precipitation that forms when supercooled droplets of water condense on a snowflake, forming a 2–5 mm ball of rime; the snowflake acts as a nucleus of condensation in this process. Graupel is the German word for this meteorological phenomenon.[2]

Could any of the experts on here be able to tell me if we are going to get a shift in the wind direction to WNW or NW in the coming days?

the winds should swing around to that direction during thursday afternoon and evening. so hopefully we'll start to see some of the white stuff then.

Forecast looked good for snow here up till friday. Hopefully it stays a little bit colder than forecast and falls as sleet instead of rain so my precious snow will stay!

In that case, you should probably reverse the locations in the forecast :D

Oh crap! Even if I get to Inistioge I'll have to walk about 3 miles to get home. Back road between there and New Ross - apparently it is pretty impassable except for 4 by 4 or tractor.
Guess I may stay in kk.
