We have managed to evade most of the showers here.

However i hear things have degraded really badly in the CC.

It certainly has, in the last hour Christchurch has become a nightmare for cars and buses!

    I'm glad I don't have to go out there:D

Its like nighttime up here pure dark out and bucketting down, people that went out this morning are going to find it very difficult to get home.

Firstly can I say I am uber jealous of your 16 inches. ;):D

I lived in Firhouse for '82 and a neighbour was incommunicado in a hay shed in Cavan for 3 days during the blizzards after his car got stuck driving back to Firhouse, no one knew if he was alive or dead. Our worst experience was loosing bearings crossing a small green area between estates and ending up 1 mile further from the house than when we started!

Hopefully there are a few things which a lot of people have now that we didn't have then to help us.

    Number 1 - Mobile Phones
Number 2 - Mobile Phones with compasses and GPS

1982 - "Cant see my hand in front of my face! Where the F are we?"
"I haven't a clue, I think we are in big trouble!!"
2010 - "Cant see my hand in front of my face! Where the F are we?"
"5 metres from Blah house on the corner of Blah street....."

    :D:D

Spilling graupel in Deansgrange. Not very deep yet, though, just a couple of inches.

@ WC. Looks to me that a more organised feature is just coming out of the UK - I think you will get lucky. As always, you deserve a dumping! :)

Crazy snow here in D14. Has not stopped for the last 3 hours bar a few minutes. Must be 8 inchs deep at the back door at least. Just back from a walk up to the shop for milk and the traffic all the way through Goatstown towards M50/Sandyford is at a standstill nearly. That commute is going to a bitch.

Yep could well be, just hit the 12 inch mark in Tallaght so I'd imagine how bad it is up there.
