Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just a quick question, hopefully someone out there might know,

I work part time, have 2 kids and as far as I can see I am entitled to FIS, but my partner is on the dole, would that affect the claim, we are still earning way below the rates on welfare.ie

your partners dole will be taken as means. If he gets €200 and you earn €200 net of prsi and tax then the income limit for your family size is about €602.
you should get €602-€400=€202*60%=€121.20 in a FIS payment.
You should apply with all the relevant documentation, the form is available to download from welfare.ie.
All they can say is no
If you are only entitled to a very small amount you will receive the minimum payment of €20.
My advice to you is to apply asap as the income limits maybe decreased in Tuesdays budget.

Your partners dole is taken into account and he cannot recieve a adult dependant rate for you and recieves half rate for the kids.
they take off income levies and pensions aswel.the amount is rounded up so in the above example €122 per week.nothing to lose but apply asap.if I were you I would have that application in the post by friday if at all possible.
