Haven't a clue about some of the stuff either as they're for cabs I know little about. The audio passthrough is brilliant, being able to play a game using headphones would be dead handy.

His stuff is amazing. It's like you think of a product you need for your cab and he's already making them!

I want that headphone jack passthrough, an extension harness, that supergun ATX to switching PSU adapter and one of those voltage meters.

How long does it take to get something when you put an order in?

Edit - just asked about the headphone passthrough. That really is a huge must at the moment.

Not sure, when I bought a few bits off him ages ago it was a quick enough turn around, several weeks. That voltage meter thing you have your name down for had a massive waiting list - it's better than the one I currently have but the queue put me off getting his one.

Defo have to put my name down for the audio jobbie and maybe that AWSD PSU replacement kit - presumably the ends of the wires just go into the same type of generic jamma psu pictured below it, just need to check where the other ends connect up to. :)

Anytime I've put in an order for a cable mentioned on that post or even a custom cable which is a slight mod to one he lists, he has been fairly quick. 1~2 weeks max. Speed really depends on the current backlog of orders.

Order with confidence, he isn't a messer which is rare

I asked over on one of the other threads but I think it was lost in a discussion regarding GTA:IV.

I'll be building a bar top arcade unit soon and I was just wondering if the following could be configured to send the coin signal to mame / hyperspin? (This is assuming of course that there's enough room for this and a coin box).

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/arcade-CPU-coin-selector-acceptor-with-USB-timer-board-/260615920001?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cadeb5981#ht_2971wt_884

    Thanks!

Would you even bother with that though? Just use button combinations to coin up. Doubt you'd have space for it anyway unless you mounted it somewhere on the side of the unit which would be a bit weird.

It's low on the priority list but I would actually like to have the option, that way I could use it as a piggy bank of sorts.

Just wondering if it would work is all if I decide that I do have the space.

    Yeah it'll work,
you supply the mech with 12v and put a "comparison coin" in the mech.
When the coin goes through the normally open contact closes giving your IPac a signal.

Perfect but this unit only seems to have USB ports or is there something that I'm missing? I'm really reallynew to this kinda stuff.

Is there a cable that goes from the board to the ipac somewhere? Thanks for your help!

The jpac recognises a coin insert in the mech over the jamma connector. It translates that as keyboard number 5 which is default coin up in mame.
The jpac also has a shift key for coin up - hold p1 start and p1b1. This is also translated as keyboard number 5.

Both are programmed out of the box and you can use either.

It'll be an iPac that I'm using and not a jPac... I don't think I'll be connecting any jamma boards to it in the future although if this changes I'll just get different kit for it.

Also to the poster that said that's not what I need the eBay link looks like the same coin mech with extra usb board. It's actually alot cheaper coming directly from hong kong.

Thats assuming he's using a jpac...what if there's no jamma loom & this is just a screen & pc in a cab jobbie?

There won't be a jamma loom just an ipac to connect the buttons and joysticks to.

Nice! Still waiting to hear back from him myself. I asked whether he thinks it would be possible to auto-switch it like Cools suggested. I'd happily wait for that mod or else just get the standard one.

Auto switch as in if the headphones are plugged in the audio routes to headphones only and if headphones not plugged in audio goes to the speakers?

You can buy switched headphone jacks to do the above no problem. The issue might be the availability and suitability of the cab wiring.

Spotted that alright, was snapped up super fast. Decent price on it. It was the Jap version which I think doesn't have the auto-fire on button C.

Coincidentally I snagged myself some more Raiden goodies today also. :)

Just spotted his post on AO, that's brilliant! Definite sale from me. It will go perfect on the 1P CP where I'm only using 3 buttons, then rest are plugged.

Aye. I paid about £150 for mine which included mad expensive shipping, £20 or so. Before my Parcel Motel days. But you're looking around €150 or higher.

I'm currently PS3'less {not necessarily a bad thing I know} but do want to fill the void. I previously had a modded PS3 & therefore didn't get to use it online for the likes of Journey etc...so I want a stock one for that reason.

I'm a bit of a sucker for limited edition consoles, & this caught my eye - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-PlayStation-Ascension-Dualshock-Controller/dp/B00B5NU6AA/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1362045062&sr=8-12

Would I be mad to get one?

I have the opportunity to become a reseller for a DIY bartop arcade flat pack unit.

If I were to go ahead with this (no idea of pricing as of yet) would anyone here be interested in purchasing one?

Just trying to get a feel to see if there's a market out there for this kinda thing.

    Thanks!

Nope, I prefer to build my own :D

Not sure if there is a market for kits really, most of the kits I've seen still need a lot of work, drilling, cutting, painting which are the bits most people have difficulty with anyway.

Was thinking of selling pre-cut kits myself but cost of producing a easy-home-assembly kit would not be worth it for small numbers.
So I'll be sticking to making fully assembled bartops (with or without electronics) or offer a custom build service..

    yes!

But it works out at €300 plus or minus a few euro...the same price as a bog standard 500GB model. Delivery is free too with Super Saver.

If I bought the 12GB model, I'd have to then buy a larger drive & the internal caddy for it...negating any savings.

Plus the PS4 isn't backwards compatible so a PS3 is still going to be needed for PS3 games.

    Hmm...

Just the kits at first with a view to building up the units myself in my spare time. Would require a fair investment on my end so just wondering if it'd be worth it.

The shop who's name shall not be spoken also seem interested. In fairness the guy I was speaking to knows his stuff.

Well I went on to price the standard 500GB model & seen its the same price so that kinda swayed me.

Re Alien3 The Gun...I thought my Tekken 3 cab was big  I'd feckin'g love that Alien cab but rest assured thats not fitting through my doors. Kills me though as I have plenty of space for it :(

A good quality kit I think would sell. Personally I like building my own stuff...usually because any kits ive seen involving wood dont live up to my specifications. But a good quality kit at the decent price I think would sell. Especially If there is access to glass tops, bezels etc that would be designed to fit the kit.

but all depends on the price. Any kits ive seen wouldnt be worth the money to me

These kits always work out too expensive for what they are. So it all depends on price really like the guys have said.

It's a really niche market though, so don't be going and importing 100 units or anything!
