Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nipped over to Tesco Clearwater.
They got them in but they didn't scan into their system so they sent them all back, presumably to local storage.
    Going to try again tomorrow

Yeah, there was some mention of a Tesco f*** up on the Rpi forums the other day.

I called a few Easons stores and was told "we don't stock that magazine"

Eh just wait till the new year until hype has died down a bit and they are back in stock everywhere.

I might just get it from the PiHut when they come back in, along with the box of adapters.
A ethernet dongle will be handy as well.

Keep an eye on pimoroni as well. I always get my Pi bits from them and they've some tasty bits from adafruit stocked as well.
Think I paid £8 for the Pi Zero and adapters(and a few quid postage).

    https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/raspberry-pi-zero

And remember, the more you add to the Zero the closer it gets in price to the A+(or even Pi2), which might be more suitable for most people.

No MagPi this morning in Tesco Clearwater!
Not doing that again, out of the bed early to nip in to see, on the road I knew, just knew, it wouldn't be there. :(
    Bugger!

I'm offloading my entire collection over the next year, so if you're looking for chibi robo I can sort you out. I'll admit straight off, I'm trying to get as much as I can for it.
Stick up a wanted ad in the marketplace, and if our valuations meet, I'm happy to sell.

None in Tesco Dun Laoghaire yesterday either when I checked after work.

Apparently they are due to get them in but keep missing deliveries or something like that.

I'll have to check what I'm missing. Very little to be honest, I'll throw up an ad once home and some sort of offer, like the average completed or something.

Been putting off buying a copy for far too long and would rather the cash go to someone here I guess :)

Monument Valley is free on iOS at the moment.

Nice puzzle platform type game with Journey vibe.

Not sure, saw a cool project where they embedded it in the back of an old CRT, coupled with a few controllers and solder the composite points to the TV's and you have an instant Retro doodad.
A cheap and cheerful Kodi player is another use, coupled with a powered USB hub, USB to ethernet adapter and a IR receiver.
    Tons of plans here!

I managed to get retropie running on it with a wifi dongle, usb keyboard and mouse and MS Sidewinder joypad all hooked up to via a cheap unpowered amazon basics 4 port hub.
So you might not even need a powered hub, depending on whats connected. And I'm not even using normal PSU, just hooked the Pi up to a USB 2 port on the side of the monitor.

Given the thing is on all day it'd probably need extra cooling.
Wouldn't do much for sales if the 360 in attract mode goes RROD in store.

Speaking of 360, it's 11 years this coming year, scary tbh.
But, despite the racket it makes, in it's early generations, and the fact that few of those gen have survived the stupid design decisions made by MS, it has been a respectable "current gen" console to own right up to the middle of 2015.
That's a healthy lifespan longer than pretty much everything else.
Early games still play well, from Project Gotham to Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and later stuff is still right on the money, with plenty of classics inbetween.

For the amiibo addict * in your life. €24

    * by addict I mean the person who has two of every amiibo and is prepared to crack one open out of its plastic casing to place on the stand while leaving the second preserved, factory fresh for all eternity.

There is a plastic bubble dome that should cover the entire Xbox from the front and top, I can't remember if it locked at the back or side.
The fans I always assumed was because it couldn't get air in or out anywhere else.

Then they all started breaking ha ha

Didn't really matter to me, and I put a lot of hours into that one.
I had some experience of Morrowind beforehand, on the Xbox, but Oblivion was outstanding.
Sure, there's plenty that one can fault at this remove but, as an example of western action rpg it was just fine at the time and is still perfectly playable now.
I preferred the landscape, it's variations, over Skyrim as well.
