Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Retail Gamecube games are, NR discs are a different format. Hence you can't play retail games on an NR reader

Here's an interesting load of auctions. Arcademachines.ie has listed some jamma boards. Several are dirt dirt cheap, but have problems. Might be worth the investment on a couple

    http://www.ebay.ie/sch/arcademachines.ie/m.html?hash=item33747f8432&item=220997846066&pt=UK_Video_Games_Coin_Operated_MJ&_trksid=p4340.l2562

I looked at his feedback and someone managed to get a Shock Troopers MVS cart from him for a tenner. Jammy!

edit - bought the Asterix board. Couldn't resist at €25 delivered!

Yeah. I picked up a puzzle bobble 4 and F3 system from him.
Supposed to be working but isn't. Sorting out returning it to him now.

    Edit:
He's moving to Canada for a while, hence selling off the stock.

I never thought I'd be able to link Pyong's mountain man tendencies with Darius.

    Apparantly I was wrong

Thats the adhoc Darius setup you see a lot of in Japan when they dont have the original cabs and screens.
    Still nice though.

It's the most beautiful custom cabinet I've ever seen. I bet Salmonhamburger never had a cabinet like that. It nearly brought tears to my eyes. I need to watch my Darius Burst Live concert DVD later tonight to console myself that I only have mere weeks now until I finally see those wonderful Darius cabinets in all their glory.

    *sigh* :o

Well, plasmas and Lcds aren't that expensive anymore, could be easy enough to rig up a setup, space being the only real problem.
Of course, you could use three projectors and the side of the house!

Also, throwing this up for sale, only arrived yesterday but I bought thinking I'd not get a Namco stick, which I did in the end, so this'll have to go, pity though, it's pretty nice, been playing with it this morning, surprisingly nice to use....

this guy over on adverts posted up yesterday saying he has a load of retro stuff for sale, ive been talking to him in the pms and he seems legit to me anyways...., he sent me on a list of about 50 nes games he has...

BUT... he said he has about 30 arcade cabs for sale, including an atomswave for 800 and an original puckman cocktail cab for 2k that is working perfect.

also mentioned original space invaders 1 and 2, turbo outrun upright, chase HQ, virtua racing twin, lethal enforcers, paperboy, gauntlet 2, gunblade ny, rad mobile, if i had any money id be all over this..

Unfortunatly im getting married in god damn october so dont.

as i said he seems like a nice bloke over the pms.

he reposted the ad, it must have been removed or something yesterday..

Well, said nice bloke has banned me from commenting on his adverts!
Because I was wondering was he a reseller...
Might account for why one ad was closed and another opened.
A little strong without any warnings I think.
Ah well, hadn't much fundage to spend this month anyhow....

Has a great understanding of the system of Adverts too, for a guy who only created an account two days ago :(

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,391 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

yeh i seen your comment before the ad disappeared, he may well be a reseller. he has said he has 30 cabs. i dunno he seems alright in the pms, but thats just my judgement based on his replys.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 34,633 CMod ✭✭✭✭CiDeRmAn

Oh, probably nothing wrong with him and I was probably out of order for commenting as such.
No law against being a reseller either.
Just a little too good to be true to have so many hard to find cabs somewhere down the country, just awaiting the right offer, but, there again, if they can pull them off of derelict ferries they can find them anywhere.
Looking forward to seeing someone actually getting something from him, see how their transaction goes.
He has one positive feedback, within a day of the account being set up... fast work.... oh, sorry, it's from someone he bought from, he's throwing down a lot of offers on stuff atm.
Well, best of luck with him, hope he sells you tons of cool, cheap stuff!
You can sell it on to me if he won't deal with me directly!

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,391 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

haha, to be honest he seems to know what he has i was hoping i might get a cheap cab off him but no such luck! id love to see a photo or two of the cabs. especially the original puckman cocktail he mentioned.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,886 ✭✭✭Steve X2

Why doesn't he just list a bunch of what he has on the advert?

Isn't it against the advert rules to just stick up an auction for nothing, put a €1 price on it and a "send me a pm" message?

    .

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,391 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

yep, they may have deleted the original ad because of that, because its not in his withdrawn list.

at first I thought it might be a 2nd account of FJ Sheridan, or whatever his name is that buys every retro game in sight on adverts.

Man! I hate that guy. Twice in the last week he has offered 5euro more than me on two items. The thing is both ads had no comments for like 5 days until I commented, then 5 mins later he is in offering slightly more.

I'm only interested in VGA graded 100 games. 90 graded games are for chumps and we all know what the difference between a 90 and 100 rated game is.

I don't care about the VGA grading but I'd love a sealed copy of the game.
But man, the price on it

I could buy 3 or 4 copies of Darius Alpha for that kind of money :D

Isn't the whole VGA grading thing somewhat of a scam?

Still: you're basically paying 4,000 for some plastic. Great game and all, but I can think of several thousand things more worthy of my money :pac:

You really should get one of them VGA graded and see how much it increases the value as a matter of interest!

Isn't the whole VGA grading thing somewhat of a scam?

The item jumps massively in value because it's enclosed in an acrylic box & approved by a self appointed organisation? Sounds ridiculous to me, but you know what they say about fools & their money

Hopefully the mods don't mind this, but I guess it's somewhat related. Star Wars had games right?! Invasion Dublin have given boardsies a 25% discount for Friday 4th May. Works the same as the Infideals & Rewind Bits code. Hey, if you don't ask you'll never get ;)

@Steve_SI: Not sure if it was you or someone else that mentioned recently about getting an N64 DD unit? There's a gorgeous looking boxed one for sale on AO atm, minty. Comes with Mario Artist too. Says he'll split the bundle depending on the offers so you might be able to just snag the DD if you wanted.

Yeah it was me. My one is in mint condition and came with a bit more 64DD stuff than that one on AO. Think I paid 700-800 euro for my one so that price is pretty decent.

Check out this chap's ebay listings, link, the condition of each is almost too good to be true. Love the look of the Computer Space machine and that Robotron cocktail is gorgeous (Ciderman prepare to "jizz yer pants" again). Reckon that Star Wars cockpit would fit nicely into your shed EnterNow. ;)

    The pricing though. :(

I WANT the Robotron cocktail although, I must confess, I'd prefer the upright version.
I read an interview with Eugene Jarvis and he was talking about his cab that he still plays, how it takes an hour or so to get in "The Zone", and he wrote the damn thing!
So, now I want one; can't have one, but want one!
I'd even settle for a Mame cab whose two joysticks were configured for Robotron bliss...
I think I may be spending time in Kerbdogs new house!
