Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Oh yeah!

Well if it was, the idiot shilled himself out of 179 euro.

I wouldn't be surprised if the lad who came second place suddenly gets a 'second chance offer' email in his inbox.

    9***n( 0 ) EUR 192.50 12-Sep-12 16:55:52 BST

    Time ended:12-Sep-12 18:30:11 BST

I'd say it was, last bid was at 4.55pm and the listing ended at 6.30pm.
Maybe he thought there was loads of time for another bid.
I could be wrong though... :pac:

This Irish auction has been mentioned on gamesniped. Really interesting bit of info about it by the owner of the site.

Expect the price to really soar now. Already hit a grand.

another of those ps1's has found it's way onto adverts

    http://www.adverts.ie/playstation/brand-new-ps1/2092083

lol at his misspelling: "I have it raped in plastic"

Them PS1 will be doing the rounds fo a while yet. In my opinion the original seller flooded the market with them at the time. I know a lot of people picked up more than one and at 30 euro could you blame them.

I got 8 of them, but you'll never see them up for sale at silly prices :)
I sold one on to a poster here a while back at cost so I'm at 7 now. 6 really as I'm using one myself.

Shop is a long way off at the moment, maybe a year or there abouts depending on funds and other stuff.
I'm picking up some stock for it from time to time when I see some job lots at a decent price or some nice things in Japan etc and also have a few other things secured for it for when the day comes (I wont just be selling retro games, I'll have other stuff as well that's retro related).
I've a few ideas about the location but that will all depend on what's available when the time comes (and how much the rent is) but basically it will be within a few mins walk of the Grafton street area, but not in a smelly hole of an alleyway or anything like that.

I put the Mega CD 2 setup on Adverts, it's hard to price these especially when they're boxed so I just went with my gut feeling. I put the MD2 in with it as a set. Probably too high, I dunno - http://www.adverts.ie/other-consoles-games/boxed-sega-megadrive-2-meda-cd-2/2095655?notification=e133a2a6aa1ea930632df76b3cc17c95-1347874681

Seems like a decent price to me. Mine is missing that metal plate... it's rare that you find one these days that has the metal plate and MD1 extender intact.

I think the MegaCD combo is fairly expensive.

But then again, I'm not sure how much of a premium the 'complete in box' demands in general as I usually go for unboxed stuff.

The only one I found was on Ebay Australia, & it's an auction type. It could be dear I honestly found it hard to price. I won't be giving it away though so if it doesn't sell I'll be happy to hang onto it :)

Yep, I've some stuff to shift and seriously considering the local recycle center as an easier alternative :)

You really should get it VGA'd :D

I must admit the thoughts of using adverts now for these items really doesn't appeal, I'd much rather trade them which is why I had them in the trading subforum first.

just had a look at completed listings on ebay and seen a boxed meg2cd with 6 games sell for 170 over in the UK. so minus the games and plus a boxed meg2 i think your price is very fair. the problem is your going to get clowns offering you 100 for it.

I thought it was a fair enough stab at pricing it too, cheers Keith. As you say though, Adverts is far from plain sailing. I might stick them on the bay in a few days if nothing of note happens

I was going to stick my Nuon and Tempest 3000 on ebay but the idea of parceling that thing up and shipping it.... I'd rather someone more local, who can pick it up, will take it.
Of course, there is fairly little interest in such a thing here, as proved by the surprisingly little interest the console has gotten :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,906 ✭✭✭CosmicSmash

To many idiots on Adverts looking for something for nothing, hoping you don't know what you're selling.

Genuine question here - how come there isn't a For Sale type sub-forum on A&R? Is it against the rules or something? Is there some sort of commission generated from sales on Adverts that Boards would miss out on?

I'd much sooner sell to regulars on here than have my time wasted by plonkers over on the Wild West that is Adverts.

/Edit: What's that Airsoft for sale section all about?

As I understand it, Adverts & Boards are owned by the same people. Boards is a discussion site, adverts is a sales site...the less cross talk from them the better for each I suppose.

I can't speak for airsoft rules, I'm sure o1s1n will know. But maybe airsoft stuff is prohibited on adverts, & thus is allowed on boards? Thats the way I negotiated the modded console for sale thread over in console modding...if adverts can't allow them then there's no harm in boards exploiting a niche I guess

What if we had a modded retro consoles sales thread?

If its modded then surely it falls into the jurisdiction of Console Modding, there's a thread I set up in there for selling any modded consoles :)

It's true, if a fugitive from the law makes it over the line from the A&R forum into the console modding forum I can't touch him.
The two just stand there, Enternow and the lawbreaker, making faces at me across the border.....
I'll get them though.... oh yes!
Just one modded 360 to slip onto the A&R trading forum and SNAP! caught in my trap!

€20 but a stunning looking little game with a brilliant soundtrack.
The gameplay isn't so hot but, like, this is art man!
I used to love skullmonkeys, but finding out that its creator is a looney right wing nut kind of soured it for me.Its a pity because the music ( especially the bonus round music) is great , and its a nice platformer.

I just stuck 3 GBA SP AGS-001 up on adverts for 10 Euro each plus some crappy free game.

Yeah, I was looking around at getting the soundtrack about 5 years ago, after I bought the game and loved the tunes.
I sent the money via credit card, but not paypal :(
Next thing you know.... nothing, and it continues to be nothing to the present day.
I sent them emails galore, they responded to the first few, promising to attend to it, but since then no replies.

So, I said frak up muvver fuppers and downloaded it instead!

The whole music site is a bit odd though, the musicians are some strange americana thing, folky and.... something else, not sure... they'll probably be voting Romney to be sure!
