That's the one I have. It's a bare bones model made to compete with the PS1 and Saturn (we know how that went). Only has component out, no RGB. It's not a bad price at all. Hotel Mario and Lemmings are two of the better games for it and it comes with a Gamepad which are very hard to find and can be expensive.

Aye for sure, they're usually in that neighbourhood though. I guess it only applies to the Casey120's and Steve_SI's of this world. :p

Although Casey already has one iirc.

I'd like one but holding off on getting more cabs until I have the shop up and running in town and then I'll be buying lots of candies and nice things with the excuse that its "for the business" :)

I really want that Cute. Really REALLY want that Cute. It's the first one I've seen for sale ever since I've had the room for one.

But jeez, parting with almost 2k after postage? Dont think I can bring myself to do it. It's one of those things where every time I'd look at it, I'd wince a little and think 'argh! 2K!' :pac:

It's only going to increase in value. If you ever need the funds you could just sell it to me.
So buy it now, then in a year I'll buy it from you, so deal and stuff, yeah?

Could just be my eyes but in the picture above it looks like there's some warping going on with the image top left. The player 1 heath bar seems to curve towards the top of the screen compared to the player 2 bar.

(Just in case you really were going to drop 2K on it).

Check this out! Really rare snes game in Ireland, CIB, even with the cart plastic -

Last one sold for EUR 267.22

I do have to wonder where these people are hiding with these stashes of rare stuff in Ireland! It's a small country with an even smaller group of retro (not retr0) fans so surely it's hard for these items to go un noticed apart from popping up for sale now and again!

I like to think it's the same lot, being passed from collector-to-collector, 'til the point the inevitably realize that they'll never have time to finish all these games, and consequently repost them on classifieds. With a premium, of course.

€5 & a soggy bag of Tayto Smokey Bacon & we can talk.

It's specifically written into Adverts rules that soggy smokey bacon is an acceptable form of offer

Boots and hacked-ports, no? Surprised he's not got a Famiclone going too, just for completion's sake. I've actually played the Mortal Kombat V boot he's got there, it's a hack of MK for the GB. You could literally beat the whole thing by just mashing the B button. That's, of course, if it could be beaten, it loops infinitely.

Yes they are likely refurbished internals inside aftermarket replacement cases.

The cases and buttons etc tend to be lower quality and worse fit and finish. Plus you've no idea how much QC was done on the internals before leaving the factory.

It was newish-in-box Wonderswan, GBA and NGPC for 80, 60 and 60 (I think) respectively. Games too. I'm quite glad it got taken down,
to be honest. I've got rent, bills, and food to deal with this week.

I wonder where it's gone. PM bid? Ebay?

I didn't think the prices were that great to be honest.
Maybe good for adverts but nothing special.

I thought when ads disappear like that it's because it was taken down by mods. A normal withdrawn advert should still be viewable.
I could be wrong in that assumption though.

Perhaps not, but they were essentially new, which was enough to tempt me.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,509 Mod ✭✭✭✭Andrew76

Were they all boxed? Prices actually sound decent for the normal mad sh1t you see on there.

Maybe one of the mods wanted them for him/herself and pulled the Ad. :p

Yeah my boxed Wonderswan Crystal was only about 30-40 euro I think, so definitely expensive (especially if it was an earlier model).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,894 ✭✭✭Steve X2

Yeah good prices for Adverts but you can get them on ebay and especially ebay Japan for less.
Nice to be able to get them local though, so there is that.

Not much of an advantage. I'd be much happier getting it from a japanese seller for cheaper since they never overcharge for postage, their postage is usually crazy fast and you can be more sure a japanese person would look after their stuff properly.

The fully boxed NGP with 5 cart only games was €120 from what I remember. Pretty expensive.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,036 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

I got my NGP from japan for 22 posted. I got 9 of the best NGP games (10 if you include both versions of card fighters clash) for 40 including shipping from the guy on ebay that sells the NGP game lots, he's still selling NGP game lots.

120 euros is a rip off unless they were boxed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33,733 ✭✭✭✭Myrddin

And back up, this time the ad has a total asking price. the previous one was listed as €1 so I assume it was removed for breaking the rule of each ad must have an asking price - http://www.adverts.ie/other-consoles-games/retro-game-consoles-and-more/2173577

good joblot here if you don't mind taking some shovelware, and could haggle down to around €300

A fact made all the more painful due the fact that it was once going for this:

    http://earthboundcentral.com/2012/02/earthbound-was-once-5-99/

Even more so, by the reality, it's not a rare game. It sold, yes, sold, 140,000 copies (according to the information that Earthbound Central provided, http://earthboundcentral.com/2009/02/earthbound-series-sales-figures/), and that's not accounting for what was shipped.

At least, I suppose, it wasn't VGA and going for five times the price of the ad you posted...I tell myself, as I rock back and forth.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,790 ✭✭✭Jack burton

Just goes to show you that demand really is everything. Like its not the best RPG ever and not the rarest game ever but it still one of the most valuable games on the SNES, and in general.

I really want a copy haha

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,969 ✭✭✭Mr.Saturn

Like its not the best RPG ever

It is, actually. What other RPG lets you, personally, squash the Anti-Christ?
Can't get much more roleplaying than that, can you?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 52,036 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

As a big RPG fan I can safely say Earthbound is pretty much the best RPG ever, with only its direct sequel Mother 3 a contender for that position. Its the reason it's so sought after. People finish the game and fall totally in love with it and want a copy.

    I know I do :'(
