Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think you would get a better price on it anywhere, just bring it home under the cover of darkness;)

The driving machine is approx 190cm x 70cm x 70cm. Selling because it does not get any use any more. Some of the branding on the box has been flawed over the years. Collection only

What a weird way of saying 'my kids have peeled the artwork off'

Yeah, went back for another look at it, these days my eyes couldn't take a screen that small. :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,725 ✭✭✭The Last Bandit

Apart from the tiny screen, do ye think think 800 is a reasonable price for it ? 156 games sounds like its a multigame pcb rather then a mame cab.

No, 200 max to be honest.

I remember playing one in a shop in London about 6 or 7 years ago. Think it was selling at 1500. Which probably explains that auction price. Youd get a new astro city delivered from ronnie for about 850

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,391 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

Dont think thats mame is it? looks like a 156 in 1 pcb or something? either way, its a bit pricey!

I was up in Tescos in clarehall and the seem to be flogging the older 360 model. I think it was the arcade bundle the one with the pac man logo on the front for 100 euro. I don't know how reliable they are but their brand new and might suit somebody for that money. Would you still get the old 3 warranty with them?;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

apparently Achilles needs a new xbox :pac:

Nice! Asking price is too expensive though. Got mine with cardboard sleeve on ebay for about €80 last year.

    Retr0'll love this bit!

I received this game in a trade a while back and played it, really great game, epic as final fantasy 7!

I hope he wasn't running it in that Ikea unit he got. I think it happens to them all sooner or later, I on my third.:(

I had a feeling he didn't have the sleeve, that's why I asked him if he had it. It's not worth near 150 without the sleeve, if it was mint with the sleeve it might make close to it on Ebay but I don't think you would get it on Adverts.
80 euro was a fine price to get it for.

They're likely Jasper models, so probably more reliable than even the new Slims. And even more importantly, they could be jtaggable ;)

I knew there was something about them arcade ones and the JTAG. How do you know is it by date or power rating?

Should be by year, look for the Lot Number, it should be something like this, 0843x, 08 indicating the year they were made in and 43 the week. Should also be 12.1amps.

But Some of the branding on the box has been flawed over the years! :D

Go for it man. I can't see the end price rising much higher than that.

It's in the watch list. I think I can live without food for the rest of the month anyway. Fecking car tax and a lavish bank holiday weekend threw my budget way off this month :(

Ah lads, still 7 days to go! Stop bidding, you're just throwing your money away!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

Yeah I know..threw down bid then saw 7 days left.
Ooops...time to play the patience game.
Anyway does the cab even work?

Hah! Now there's a good question. Might be an idea to ask him for a photo/video of the monitor on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

    Indeed..in the process now.
Would be deadly to have a dedicated driving cab though
Touring cars was model 2? So this would be a JVS cab rather than Jamma yeah?
If it worked you could whack daytona or sega rally into it as well

Sure why not just ask him can you take it for a test drive(excuse the pun), if your not to far from him. I know i would if i was going to bid.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33,733 ✭✭✭✭Myrddin

I'd be very careful about bidding on that cab so early, its really not worth that much & all the early excitement could over-value it. My top money on that cab, given its condition, assuming its working, would be about €150/€200 max

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

Yep agreed..just rare to see dedicated stand up driving cab on the market.
Really want one...model 2 makes it all the better..the best platform bar none for arcade driving games.if monitor works I'm in.
Tis you that has the ridge racer stand up isn't it

Kinda limited to driving games though that is if its you're only cab. Would make a nice second cab :)

Agreed, its the perfect 2nd cab. For your first, ideally you should go for the most versatile setup like a 6 button Jamma setup
