Absolute beaut outside in central Illinois, sunny and around 4C. Going to get hammered snow showers and with gusts ranging from 50-70 km/h for Sunday and Monday, temps dropping.

Sandyford update

Dry, windy and 5C (more or less the same all day); snow cover becoming patchy in spots, lots of green grass peeping out. On estate roads packed ice with a layer of water on top is very
slippery.

All in all exceptionally gloopy.

Wine Goddess

Ballycullen/Firhouse current temp is 5.1C and snow melting fast.....real problems with melting ice here in the day and people still getting stuck. Last night the front part of an artic (arf, arf!) lorry got stuck outside our house trying to turn in the melting/freezing slush and compacted ice.
My wonderful husband and some other great guys came out of their houses with shovels and helped him for about an hour.......lovely community spirit - pity it only seems to be visible in a crisis

Dull outside, sun trying to break through.
I was suprised by pictures on the news showing the bad conditions that are still down the country.
Everythings gone here , no ice no nothing, just snow on the hills.
I heard theres still plenty of snow in the fields towards Letterkenny though and The Gap.

Most snow gone here now as well, still a few patches around and theres still ice on the footpaths but for the most part everythings back to normal.

Back to boring grey skies, 8 degrees, no rain & a very light breeze

Sandyford update

Nearly 4pm, dusk here. Clear bright and almost warm sunny day. Temp hit 7C - probably the highest since mid November!

Thaw continued and while many icy estate roads remain on open grass the snow is retreating fast.

0c here and some seriously heavy fog. Particularly bad on the M50 from the Ballymun interchange to the N4 interchange. Visibility was very poor.

Really bad frost here as well, everything was pure white this morning with frost and anywhere shaded from the sun it hasnt melted all day. No thaw whatsoever today either, the small patches of snow that are still around dont seem to have gotten smaller at all

Yes Harps same here, no thaw in the shade, Ice in parts still all day, and in some sides of roads the ice from last week is still very much there too.
2c atm.
