    Nothing but rain and sleet in Letterkenny today, seems to be very patchy around the county as to whether it falls as rain or snow. Big thaw today, I can finally see the ground again in places for the first time all week, still a few inches in grassy areas though

    Much warmer feeling today as well, still only 2C but there isnt that chill in the air

    Sandyford update:

    Temp bottomed out at -11C last night. No more snow since, that band from the west missed us.

    It is windy and 0C, cloudy, but no thaw. We've had to do with 11.5 inches of snow!

    Temp slightly rising here to 3.7c.

    Was driving back from Castlebar a short while ago and there was a rain shower, it was 1c there on the car thermometer.

    Rain/sleet in Castlebar this morning made roads very icy as it froze once it hit the ground.Cleared around 11am,a thick Fog then set in before clearing.Showers of Rain this evening,just above freezing atm at 1 Degree.Calm.1002.

    During the afternoon the temp rose and is now +2C with a slow thaw. Very breezy and fairly cloudy.

    Most dangerous conditions i have ever came across all day was bad and when it got dark it got worse.Roads and footpaths LETHAL
    Even an Ice Rink mite not have been as bad as it:) 1C at the moment.

    yep i'll concur on that, backroads around castlebar are effectively skating rinks, around the key west / islandeady road junction is very dangerous
