What do you mean by full whack exactly, 100% of the actual price?
    So no specials?

But petrol has been rising slightly for most of the year, so what's different.

Most special offers in the symbol stores are time limited, so maybe last weeks ones are finished, and due to the weather conditions, they did not get this weeks ones in yet...

most spars/centras will cut their offers in december anyway, if they're anywhere near where people are doing christmas shopping the stuff will sell itself without the need for offers

typical of too many people - complain without checking the facts

fuel is bought in dollars - the dollar has strengthened by 8% in the past 2 weeks and oil prices have remained stubbornly high.

current refinery cost for petrol is 48c, taxes & duties are 56c, retail & distributor margin is approx 10c and vat on top of all this is 21% - adds up to 1.38, so this is the price you'll pay in the next few days.

In NI its now almost €1.55 for petrol and €1.60 for diesel

Add on another 4c after the budget from hell.

The petrol station near us has a very creative method of setting the price.
It increases by 5c every Friday evening at 4pm and goes back down Monday morning at 10am.

Fuel prices always go up in the winter due to increased demand for heating fuel, and it's not just in Ireland either.

Yup, Diesel at my local cheap fuel station has gone from 118.4 to 121.9 this week.
