    Hi all
I want to buy something which is a bit bigger than my card limit. I could pay it all on debit but I'd rather pay about half of it now and half next month. Yes, I do clear my debt each month so no warnings needed.
So say my limit is 500 - could I put a payment onto it of 300 so that I can purchase something up to the value of 800 without incurring any penalties?
Does this depend strictly on the card?

edit: I don't want to increase my credit limit either!

    thanks

yes, you can do that without any charge. I have done it several times on my BOI Mastercard
