Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anybody else guilty of this?? Be it parts or Cars?

Honestly between my house my da's house and my lock up you could build about 3 Carina's from the ground up.

Aside from my day to day car i've about 6 others in the ''Fleet''

    Let me see...

I have two cars in storage, the Micra K10 and the Escort Mk3.

My attic is fun of spare Micra interior parts (i.e. door cards, seats, steering wheel, switches, etc). My shed has more Micra parts, including an old knackered engine from one. I also have some Escort Mk3 parts, including wheels, exhaust pipes, a spare VV carb, wing mirrors, etc.

Also have a various assortment of wheels from different cars!

The downstairs toilet is unusable because of the amount of crap I have in it.

    Polishes.
    Oil.
    Various tools.
    5 wheels of a Starlet.
    Front splitter of a Focus
    Speakers.
Lexus lights for a Focus that were on it when I bought it.
    And various other crap.

    Not as bad as some.

I might part with it,there is an absolute mountain of spares to go with it,
along with another car for parts too.
I've owned the car since '97 it was my daily driver for 5 years,
bought another car intending to tidy up the golf.
It got parked then for a couple of years, started to do some work on it,
but had a disaster while doing a small bit of welding(yes I set fire to it:rolleyes:)
nothing serious as i caught it quickly, but I didn't realise that powder fire extinquishers are corrosive and it ruined the wiring loom behind the dash.
So it's now sitting with it's interior ripped out,and I've lost interest.
It's a '90,5 door big bumper 8 valve car in Alpine white,Dublin reg, original irish car.
Mechanically it was spot on,excellent engine and gearbox,I'm still fond of it,just can't find the time and enthusiasm.
    You interested?

Ford Cortina Mk 2 2 door 2lt Mexico engine

Ford Corsair V4 engine plus spare engine

Trumiph Dolomite 1850 engine plus spare engine

Ford Escort MK 3 with a 1600 XR3i engine in it

I have a load of bits, including a cat, 3 gallons of oil and a flywheel, in the downstairs toilet.
The shed at the back of the house has another 3 small boxes of parts, a set of alloys and another full exhaust system!
Out at mammy-in-law's, I have my 320 coupe, tool box, 2 engines and a couple of boxes of parts.
And a set of sideskirts and more oil at the parents house!

If anyone's looking for BMW E36 parts - try here or here!

I had loads of electrical bits and "bags of wires that you never use, or never will" according to the wife. I got rid of most of them and of course a couple of months later I could have done with them.

Im not a hoarder myself now thank God but a lad I work with is the worst hoarder I know. He loves pallets and he gets tick over the smallest thing and also he is half deaf from years of constant pounding with an impact gun.
One of the lads from parts will shout his full name at the top of his voice and say 'pallets' after it. Well if ya see the look on the hoarders face, comical.

Any fuel filters he replaces he collects the fuel and puts them in jars and will then use them in his van which is also converted to run on other stuff as well as diesel.
Any old battery's that have failed the test he will keep and points out the tester is wrong. Around his tool box is like a small scrap yard, its in a mess. If he sees a funny shaped piece of metal on the ground well thats like me finding a tenner. Also if you ask him for a certain bolt he WILL have it, no matter what it is.

He's the type of a lad who doesn’t buy things, he makes them!
What are them things called where it cuts the soil up in gardens, a rotovator I think. Well he made one of them with a transit 2.4 litre engine and a big barrel at one end, but I heard it does the job.
He is a hoarder but he is a sound one.

I have a Volvo S70 2.5 10 valve lying in the driveway as well as hundreds of car magazines located in various parts of the house.

I've car magazines/car books going back to when I was 11. 31 now and moving house (getting married) so will DEFINATELY have to do something with them. Getting Auto Express since 1998 and never threw any out.

    Have approx 500 diecast cars.

Have 5 real cars. Laguna, Micra, two E28s (one a spares car!) and an E30 (old dublin ZS reg....selling though)

Have 3 or 400 cds. Have everything to do with my cars, travelling (ferry tickets) (tax/insurance discs) all show tickets/tt camping pass etc etc.

Have a shed full of car parts. Bought a spare laguna but could't store it at home so the brother let me have it at his but after a year he decided he didn't want it anymore so broke it so have spare doors/bonnet/lights etc etc in the shed.

Also have an E28 m5 interior (everything!) and an E30 interior in the shed.

Have a few cabinets of tools too.

Feck.....this getting married lark and moving house is gonna be fun :(
