Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ireland has a rider in the women's events starting on the 2nd in Melbourne. Shannon McCurley is the only rider competing in this round of the event, not sure what events she is taking part in. No men entered in this round of the world cup series.

The start lists and results will be updated on the Tissot site.

Unfortunately it appears that she didnt get through her heat of the qualifying points race which is used to ensure a starting field of 24 for the omnium. The first 12 from the two heats qualified to compete in the omnium events, she finished 13th in the first heat.

Press release on the Irish Cycling website.

Cycling Ireland High Performance Track Team
    Press Release (2 Dec)

The Cycling Ireland track squad will be in action in Melbourne and Cali this month. The Melbourne World Cup runs from 2nd to 4th December and we have Shannon McCurley representing Ireland in the women’s Omnium. This 6 event competition runs over Friday and Saturday. Shannon will be riding her first competitive event for Ireland in her home city of Melbourne.

In Cali later this month (16th – 18th December) 5 members of our track team will fly to Cali in Colombia. These are: Jennifer O’Reilly, Caroline Ryan, Ciara Horne, Martyn Irvine and Felix English. The girls will ride the team pursuit, Omnium and scratch race. While Martyn Irvine will ride the men’s Omnium and Felix English will concentrate on the men’s scratch race in this second of the World Track Cup events. The riders have been preparing on Aigle and Newport tracks.

This was her first competitive event, its some baptism sending a novice rider to a World CuP.

She lives next door to the track and was recommended to CI by John Beasley her coach. You have to go to all world cups to qualify for the worlds and with Shannon there it meant we had min financial outlay and keep our hat in the ring for the worlds
