X-mas number 1 2010

Did a search and only saw a thread in traditional music. Was wondering if there's any inkling for a 2010 campaign to get behind a song for number 1. Last year was brillant. Would love to see something completely obscure or happy get it this year for the year that's in it.

Maybe "Always look on the bright side of life" or something. Anybody heard anything. Or what would you pick?

Very stupid idea because I don't Think suggestions on here work very often but seeing as though there is much conflicting campaigns it might be worth while to let people suggest and then the one's with the most thanks could be put into a pole. Then for the winner we could set up or join an existing facebook ad then plague some Dj like Ray Foley to promote it on the air...ya know, or not

God I hate that song but that campaign has traction it seems and since we usually follow the UK trends that's probably what will get the nod

None of these campaigns will work because they'll spread themselves too thin.

It worked last year (in the UK) but that's it.

Now everyone thinks they can do it and because of that they will all work together to ensure whatever sh*te wins the X-Factor will get to number one.

Of course the most important thing to remember is that it doesn't matter a f*ck what's the number one.

It's the charts - they've been crap since I was old enough to give out about them (1976).

I think we should get the Horslips, who are touring at the moment, to re-release Dearg Doom, and we should get behind it for a Christmas number one.

Its a fantastic tune, and deserves the number one spot. Much more so than Jedward, Wagner, or any other X-factor sh1te.

Still though, would be a beautiful christmas number one: it would encompass the birds singing outside, the distant roar of a Brennan's delivery truck delivering batches of bread for the post-christmas turkey sandwiches, the crunch of snow underfoot, the kisses under the mistletoe, the clinking of glasses after a call of "cheers", and the ****e whine of the remote control car your neighbour's kids got. The ultimate christmas tune in my humble opinion
