Just wondering how things are looking for the Dublin mountains tomorrow, we have 3 feet 6 inches of snow on the foothills in Tallaght, up to 5 feet against walls and houses. Sally GAp has 7 feet with drifts.

We really could do with a bit more snow:D

Am goin up da hell fire club tomorrow, will yet you know!

With the temps and dew points staying so low, how could this stuff fall as anything but snow the whole way across the country?

Because the system brings its own thermal energy. The models we read and associated measuremnets arent always exactly whats happening, And even with an extremely high resolution measurement and modeling network (if possible) the chaotic nature of the system means you just cant tell. Macroscopic example of uncertainty.

We had 2 feet at midnight last night, it never stopped today till 7pm from yesterday. 3 feet 5.91 inches to be exact. Sandyford is wayyyyy lower than the hills up here. Tallaght housing estates close to the mountains have 16 inches, as you said it started Monday with zero thaw and its been pretty constant since.

Yeah, 16 inches in the estates would be about right. Elevation here is 400ft; were are you???
